here is my setup from doing the review. Indoor carpet / polished floor - but this is what I would use outdoors to start with and tune from there.
This is what I ended up on and is mostly taken from my BJ4we setup with help from Stuart Wood (on the bj4we initially, and then on the 501X).

As done for some others cars, I post this!

Blank Sheet & Setup TRF 501X

Right now, this document is rather poor but, as the car is new, can bet some good hope to increase the documents available!

Also Jimmy, if not appropriate, just remove it!!

Edit 14/03/2007 - Some documents added specially a setup in the Yatabe Arena, maybe useful for outdoor race

Here is the setup sheet of Cédric Devillers - who took the TQ at the first French national with the 501X!

Thanks for your help Cédric.

Default Worksop Setup

This is the setup I used to take 2nd at the Worksop Schumacher series. The surface is rubberised floor with carpet over the jumps.

Hi Chris,

I knew you'd be using the Tamiya on Sunday, did you get the brushless in ok?

I tend to use the setup Jimmy posted on 03rd of March in this thread. The only change I made was to have 0 camber link washers in the front, and 1 camber link washer in the rear to alter the roll axis angle.

For indoors, especially Teesside where we can expect some slippy floor on Sunday, I am using a diff in the front as opposed to the one way. Hope this helps. See you Sunday.

Chris P.

Default Springs

I recently purchased 501X WE. Ive been reading that the Tamiya springs, red, yellow and blue, are too soft and that most people are using AE springs. What is the general consensus on what springs to run? Are the tamiya ones fine or should I buy a set of AE springs?

The car was 95% dialed out of the box for me.
I copied over half of Hupo's clay setup and it was even better.
However I need to buy 30WT Losi shock oil, that's the only thing I'm missing. And maybe some tamiya blue springs.
You can run AE springs but Id like to have my car mostly tamiya brand stuff on it.
I dunno I'm just not sure about mixing springs from other brands.
