Default B44.3 gear diffs feel to tight

Have built up my new 44.3 kit and the gear diffs feel real tight using the standard 5k diff oil.
Is the normal? Should I try try using 2 shims on each out drive to losen thing up. Only experience I have had of gear diffs was the dex410 and they were a lot looser that these seem to be.

Hi John

No they should not be tight. Bring it tomorrow and I will take a look for you. Fergus's .3 was fine but I did hear a few early kits had badly machined gears.

I found that the manual's suggestion of 2 internal shims and 2 shims external was too much. I settled on 2 shims internal just behind the larger internal diff gear and then 1 shim externally between the differential cup and outdrive just right

i was having problems with my b5 gear diff. then realised i had over filled it, and its all good now.

my 44.3 gear diffs are as i would expect - not too tight.
