Beat me to it, LOL.

Ive heard of AA cells going bang though, in Stu Mahons tranny at home - destroyed his handset and would have been a house fire if he wasn't there.... got it sent back (brand new) and replaced with a different brand (KO).

my vote is lithium ion batterys you never see a mobile phone blow up while being charged do you!!

Matt

Round by Round has been the most popular choice for years now as it allows the track to change in condition (Grip Level) and layout (If necessary) without ruining the days racing...

Batley and Durham used to really benefit from R by R as they run more slippy floor. Which usually gets more grippy throughout the day. If you TQ'd round 1 at Batley / Durham and that was your best run then the track got real fast over the remaining 3 rounds (Imagine how many laps are done in those 3 rounds cleaning the track). YOu could often find yourself outside the top 10 overall.

As it is also the choice outdoors for National and regional events it follows that indoors should be the same to keep consistency. But at the end of the day it's down to the race director and many know Round by Round is the safest option covering most unforeseen eventualities.

Also, it gets rid of the 'One round wonder run' where someone pops in a blinding time and then can't back it up.

This will open a can of worms now where everyone has thier own opinion on which is best.

Yep, I agree with round by round indoors.

If you stand against the wall at Batley and let the lights reflect off the floor, you can usually see a clean racing line and a dusty wide-line. Thats what was on the racing line in round 1.

Also, don't know if you notice but I do, the track moves a lot between each round - all it takes is for a car to clip it and split the tape and an apex moves by 6 inches. So even where grip is high/consistent throughout (Teesside?) id agree with Round by Round.

But yeh, no worries with asking

I tell ya, when I first came accross round by round it was a right mare, I couldn;t get away with only finishing 1 run and driving like a kamakaze psycopath for 3. I can only do that for 2 of them now.

They go past the registering line twice in one lap. This usually happens when they take a wide line. The system picks the transponder up three times in two laps.

Hey Damo,
I reckon its because the loop is set to allow X seconds to get all the cars over the loop so they all do 1 lap with 0 laps on the time sheet... but if that time is too short, cars 9 & 10 may have registered for lap 1 and therefore gain a whole lap advantage!

So hasnt that messed the results up then if the timing is wrong. Because lee farrer has an 8 second lap and if you swap an 8 second lap for an average lap time it puts him down to around 7th or 8th.
