Some very interesting upgrades! Some of which look like they might be backwards compatible. The car definitely looks much leaner and it should be a great out of the box racer.

The rear body mounts look like they might be a little further back on the GT over the original supastox? I'll definitely be ordering a few parts (seeing as i've only just got my 1S recently) when they become available, probably the front beam, new rear spring hanger, bumper mounts, steering posts, spring mouldings and possibly the new top damper.

trust me they ARE in the same place.... might be one to look at at worksop this sunday ;-)

not sure all the parts will fit you want as looks like the pod width may be different as the top plate U3961 is replaced by a different part U4653 now as the pics look the same it could be assumed they are different hole centres, and the damper will defiantly not work as there is no fixed pivot on the front of your pod, take your top link off and try it, the pod will lift up and have no control

Hmmmmmm I think you might be right about the rear pod width. Most of the parts bar the left hand drive dog are the same, but then you also need to take the eccentric bearing holders into account, which might take a little bit of extra space away, so may make it slight narrower, but it won't be by a huge amount, but probably just enough to make it not work at all. You're spot on about the rear pivot mount too, I really didn't think that one through!

i've also been flicking through the new build manual, and noticed that the front beam is lowered too, by about 2.5mm if you build as per the build insutructions, giving a reduced castor angle, along with no o-ring, I guess to shift the focus onto the droop screws for finer control/set up.

No only pre order, at moment, it depends if you want a diff or carbon composite chassis

Bernie, if you haven't got a Supastox go for the composite with diff.

Having a diff will make a much bigger difference than having a carbon chassis OR you could buy the carbon Supastox and add a diff.

Is the central 'long gurb screw' a guide in the rubber bush? Bush won't last long if it sliding up and down like the Mardave pod

i cant quite get my head round why the most two desirable options aren't available in the same kit, i.e carbon chassis and the diff, this seems like a blatant money grabbing opportunity on schumacher's behalf. i might be a mile of the mark, but can someone explain?

As a kit it has to retail for under £100 to be eligable for BRCA sanctioned meetings. Add the the cost of a full carbon chassis and you go over the limit.

You can do what Mardave do and sell another kit with the carbon chassis, diff and other upgrades for over £100 and still be legal as the new kit contains a kit that's within the price limit.

Under £100

Que? The GT12s aren't the same brand to brand, but all the AE 12R5s are the same body post holes for the same brand just like the SS & GT.

As stated by Glen, it's a trade between the cost of a carbon chassis or a diff.

The SS was S1 composite and went well, so I think the kit with the diff and S1 chassis will be the ideal choice for lots of people. Good marketing from Schumacher.

Just got mine and started the build. Good quality, well presented kit, excellent instructions and easy to follow with all the kit bags relating directly to the instructions. If it goes as good as it looks and builds it will be another hit from the guys in Northampton.
