Congrates on a good purchase. I got my 511 body for my 501x WCE today.
I painted the undertray 'sprint car white' racers edge spray
The body will be a different color white, I wonder if they make
a metallic white?

The body was $37.10 at my local hobby shop, nice that the undertray comes with it.
Also they bagged some body clips(sweet) and some velcro tape. It didnt have the window masks thou?
So I guess I can masking tape the windows because I want them clear this time.

Cheers Marco - same to you

The front shock tower is from Fibre-Lyte. I ordered it in 5mm. Highly recommended.

Hey Lee,

Venue - Eastrax. Sandy bumpy Astro track.

Car felt "edgy" to drive until i removed inner and outer rows of spikes from the front and rear tyres. I also had to remove every other row from the second outer on the front to stop the grip roll. Luckily Nathan Waters was there to advise in that dept

I managed a second overall in round on my best run . That was the good news. Bad news is i was beaten by Nathan who had swopped to his 2WD in a 4WD heat I think he only did it to take the pi**

Theres no supplement for decent thumbs i guess

If i can get the hang of the jumps a bit better then im sure ill be ok. Very frustrating not being able to push in the mid section. Im going to try a little negative throttle expo next weekend too to try and smooth out the throttle when im trying to keep it under control over the jumps. I was running 19/87 on a sp 5.5R in the end.

It does a feel a bit like you are crawling when cornering compared to TC ( aside from the straight of course ). Im not quick enough to catch the grip roll if i push any harder sadly. If i push that extra 5% then it always bites me before the 5 minutes is up

Really enjoyed it though and aside from one driveshaft popping out, the car took some serious battering when i kept screwing up the jumps. I have moved the rear diff to the low setting to help with driveshaft plunge.

Really pleased with it mate

Dan took a video of the final here if you are interested. Im the idiot who screws up the jump as usual.

Nathan on pole.

Hey Rich, I've recently started using -50% on the throttle, and it's a LOT easier to be smooth, and you still have the power at the top end when you need it.

And you're right, corner speeds are a lot slower, once you acknowledge that and use more brakes it gets easier too :-)

I still reckon off-road is way harder than touring car!

And the 511 is ace - what setup did you use?

Cheers for the tips Si

" I still reckon off-road is way harder than touring car! "

Agree 100% with that. Certainly much harder than my local club anyway !

As for setup, i used Hupos setup from the TRF site with the folllowing changes

Tamiya Blue springs front and rear
Associated 30wt rear
Associated 35wt front
-2 camber front and rear
zero toe ( by eye )
std shock seals with HL cylinders and gold shafts.

Everything else the same as far as i can tell.

If you can or anyone else can see anything there that might be worth changing for the track in the video then please shout !

If you want a setup for a 416x on polished wood then im your man, other than that im fu**ed !
