DEX210 v2 front wishbones
Hi there
I broke a front arm on my 210 v2 today, I did hit a concrete track marker pretty hard and it was around about zero degrees temperature so I am not complaining. Has any one tried the v1 front wishbones on a v2, if anyone has tried this how did the car feel and respond. Reason for asking is that the v1 fronts look a bit stronger around the shock mount location where I broke the v2 version. it was my first meeting with the car and came second in the B final which was run over two legs so more than happy with the result, also on very worn tyres off my old v1 car as I forgot to pick up my tyre bag, it was dark when I left home so that is my excuse. Great car though and straight out of the box and not a single upgrade. Regards Neale |

I think the v2 is stronger. Going to the v1 you'll need the longer shocks. Even on the b5m everyone runs strait arms, so just go with the flow :P

The V1 arm is stronger - I never broke V1 arms but have a few V2's. But the V2 arms are better all the same.

What makes the v2 arms better? I can see they have better ground clearance but isn't the overall geometry the same? Are they harder an have less flex?

I'm not sure if its the arms themselves, the shorter shock setup etc but the car behaves differently. I've got 2 210 front ends (1 on a 210, the other a Cobra 4210) and I much prefer the V2 wishbones and shocks version. I'll swap the other over to that soon.

I don't get it, but the ae b5 has the flat VS gullwing option and everyone runs strait arms. It's usually better, but it a tuning aid, something to do with the leverage on the shock.

Yeah - has to be something like that. On the 210 it's not really a tuning aid though because the change in the shock leverage is quite significant. It needs a shorter shock shaft, smaller pistons and thicker oil to run the straight arms - so as a tuning aid you'd need an extra set of shocks too.

The straight arms make the suspension harder, i found you needed lighter oil with them hence why the kit comes with a lighter front spring
