Default Vintage Ultima gear ratio

Hi all, I'm running the uprated 48dp spur with steel gear coupled to the delrin counter gear on my mk1. I'm running a 13.5t brushless set up and wondered what pinion to run?

I also have the kit 32dp spur as I've heard the 48dp gears are chocolate. Is my 48dp spur with the attached metal gear still made of chocolate?

Cheers!

Lovely

How hard it is to fit the RC10 steering? Thinking about trying it on my Ultima MK1.

It's easy, enlarged the chassis holes and counter sunk. Then I've fitted the RB5 turn buckles.

I have an old upgrade steering kit from a company that took Houge steering cranks and sold them as a hop up for an ultima. As mentioned above, bigger holes- that's all it takes

Default Ultima Pro gearing question

Hi all,

Is the standard 48dp dpur 62 teeth? And regards to pinion size for a 13.5t brushless set up to be used on carpet, what pinion size would you start with? I have a 21t on at the minute but not raced it as yet.

Cheers!

The standard spur gear on the pro is NOT 48dp but a metric pitch size. Can't remeber exactly which but either 0.5 mod or 0.6.

62 teeth sounds about right.

Regarding the pinion: just hear around what others have as final ratio and calculate back what your spur and pinion ratio needs to be to get the same final ratio

The Ultima Pro uses 0.6 module pinions.

Thank you. I'm about to buy some pinions, I'm useless at working this stuff out! I run the Mk1 gear diff and the pro spur with steel counter, also I have the alloy inner gear.

Any help on pinion size appreciated!

My Ultima Pro has a stock 57 teeth spur gear. The pitch is 0.6 module. I confirmed the pitch by measuring the spur.

Thank you. I'm going for a 22t pinion and go from there.
