BMAX2 motor cooling
Does anyone run any coolling (fan or heatsink) on their motor in the BMAX2 in mid motor configuration? If so, any pics?

Its not needed, mine coming off at about 40° after a full run

Are you over gearing/boosting?

I put a new Speed Passion Reventon ESC and SP 7.5 motor in it, straight out of the box set up which I assume has no boost. I fitted the new Aluminium chassis and ceramic balls to the diff. It ran really, really well. Spur and pinion are standard ones out of the kit. I had not thermal cut out problems or performance problems, just felt the motor was getting a bit too hot. Might get a reading of the temperature at the next meeting.

Do that... how hot is hot, I usually guage it as if I can hold a finger on it for about 3 secs after a run its ok. But this has taken a bit of practice with checking against a temp guage as well.
Should be fine at around 50-60° Do you have the timing up on the motor? I heard that helps as well what software do you have on the esc? What gearing are you running? Is everything running smoothly? How much drag brake? Have you soldered it well? A bum solder can cause problems. |

Here is what I (need to) do, to keep temps under control:
- Running a short shell - Remove a bit from the brace in front of the motor
