Default My Budget tm2

My take on the tm2, using saddles as I don't have a shortly.

Work in progress, have still to do a front brace and finish shaping the chassis.

x2c front end and x4pro rear end with minimal disruption to the original parts. the rear diff housing had to be dremalled inside to allow the diff to be flipped.

test driven last night, a little skitty but still have the front brace to finish off, oh and to shape the chassis lol.
I'm happy with how it went. Then to source a shell that has a better shape.

What material did you use for the chassis and is it strong considering no top deck to limit bend or flex

3mm grp, seems quite strong and I've now fitted a top deck. As there was a little flex.

Car felt great after changing to a thicker shock oil, 45wht all round, blue front springs and red rear springs (ansmann)
Could have pushed harder but was still seeing what I could do, unfortunately in the final I power wheelied it up the straight, off a jump and ended up being stranded on the roof at the end of the straight and then getting hit at full speed, side on, it did break a driveshaft but proved the chassis has strength.
Will be putting it, through its paces this coming Friday once again.
Oh and I'm now using a slightly modded x4pro she'll.

Nice project !!

If you need a body and matching undertray have a look here at the Phat Bodies version - http://phatbodies.bigcartel.com/prod...am-c-tm2-bozak

Had originally called this DJD1 but have decided to call it "Double Dee" instead.

Sorted lack of steering lock too (it was the extra bolt hole in the lower nose piece, completely removed it now)
Also changed to long links all round and will increase front shock too.
All these adjustments may change again once I use the venom road tyre.
Overall I'm happy with the way it's going so far.

started with mini pins last night then changed to the new venom whites (u6790) with no alterations to set up and put a better time in
still got a little more body roll to remove, will try hard springs on the back, fit rear anti roll bar and up the shock oil wht all round for next week, on the verge of being touring car set up
also want to change the front upper deck so i can use the 2wd shell

once this is done, I may attempt to make a chassis to allow the use of a stick lipo.

Just thought I'd post an update of how it's going.
I enjoyed the near 50/50 front to back weight distribution and being able to push so hard, point and shoot steering. Using a virtually locked up diff but is quite harsh on the transmission with wear rate being quite high and tires only lasting maybe 1.5 rounds.

All is not lost, I am now modding it slightly, both saddles will now be at the back with the motor up front, this is to aid cooling. I've fitted a 80 t spur so I may use a 13.5t motor and then will enter our stock (motor) buggy class.
Have also decided to use the 4wd front wishbones and steering arms joined to the 2wd bulkhead.

Scrapped the 4wd wishbone idea.

Default update

Its been ran as a stock buggy (13.5 blinky) since December, no further modifications were made.
I found it to work really well despite lacking in overall speed, its currently getting an overhaul for next months 2.5 hr endurance which it will have a gear diff fitted for reliability.
also i never did get round to fitting a better shell

For the parts: grp and pc stand offs about £20 possibly less and then about 10hrs to align, measure, measure and drill, then piece together.

Enjoyed the project.
