What a nice car the X-5 is/was. Best car I have ever owned, period.

So you are still running one, SHY? Any fancy tricks to avoid belt skipping? Just curious, I sold mine a year ago.

Yeah, it looks really agressive! Love the looks!

Nah, never really got rid of the belt skip... I've totally renowned the car and I'll give it another try. If it still skips I'll try the XXX4 style belt tensioner (as it seems to have no problems).

Not much racing anymore... well, not many races at least... in the Nats 1:8 TR I managed 2nd place, in 1:10 OR it went horrible - only 20th place in 2WD and 15th in 4WD, just didn't master that track! The activity in 1:10 OR is very good in Norway now with 41/35 in total at the Nats!

Btw I'll never sell a car again! The collection is growing!

How about yourself?

Elvo : LOL
Your gay-yellow-phobic-thing is so funny!
Any news about the X-Factory 4wd? X-7? I know, 4wd is almost like running yellow spoked wheels, but hey, I had to ask!

SHY : I sold almost all my cars, even the vintages. I'm keeping my Kyosho racing line, a RC10LS 4.0 powered , my beloved Optima and RC10CE. Not much racing sadly.

Sorry for the highjacking...

4WD is our first love. And the X - 5 was our first car. I still remember the night driving in Tennessee when Paul had the flash of inspiration to put the idler pulley on the belt tunnel. That moment that made the whole thing possible.

The unfortunate part is that we have lost the McDonald's napkin on which he made the first sketch. We were rolling west on I-70 at about 80 MPH talking about something inconsequential when Paul shouted out, "Shut up, Dad! I've got it! Find me something to draw on." If you think about it, the X - 6 Squared was born that night.

Work on the new 4WD has been excruciatingly slow. We needed new pulleys and the supplier took three months to deliver, and, frankly, the SCX - 60 got in the way too, so very little happened all summer. We are rolling again now. The new car will be just as ground-breaking as all our previous cars have been.

Hi guys, i just got a X5 Squared today from my pal funkymojo and will be racing it tomorrow. I've always wanted 1 but seems quiet hard to get 1 in a good condition and finally got it. Must said the chassis is an work of art man.

I'm hoping that the new X5 will be better and stronger than what it is now, really wish that XFactory can do up the new X5 so it will be compatible with the current X5 Squared.

Please do not let us wait too long for the New Car.

Thx! It's not very easy to see from the pics, but that large cooling fan for the motor fits PERFECTLY inside the shell, so you can see the fan blades through the air intake... kinda cool! (had to shorten the heatsink slightly to make it fit)

2 options, easiest is that there is a replacement chassis, machined for saddles available from X Factory. Harder is to machine (dremel) it yourself. I can take some pictures of mine tonight but you need a flat bottomed machine bit (not sanding wheel) or be brilliant with a cutting disk. you basically cut the ribs to the outer shape of the saddles, so the ribs hold the front and side edges in the right place.

Default Return of the "Battle-Bug"

With all the new "bigger front window to act as a front spoiler" theme from ProLine and JConcepts. I just couldn't stay behind.

Made one of these things a few years ago to fit a B4 but then it was a heavily modified 1/8 scale body. But €ric found a body from Kamtec which is less of a hassle to fit on a buggy.

Ofcourse it has my usual elaborate paint scheme, but despite that I think it still looks ace
