Servo Advice
Looking for a new servo for my tourer, currently have a discontinued 9000 series futaba in another car and quite pleased with the performance but need one for my TRF.
Looking at spending approx £50-80 but didn't know if the KO's are better in that price range. Any advice would be appreciated, also what advantage is a FET servo ??

A Fet servo will generally give better performance as it's running off 7.2V not 6V.
You can pick up decent KO servos off here at good prices. LosiXXX was selling a brand new one for £65! |

I bought a cheap KO one with plastic gears, which cost about £40, but lasted about 3 meetings!!
Was recommended to try the ACE or AEXP ones with Metal gears. So far so good and comes with a really good servo horn as well. Mine cost £55 from a well known swindon model shop on the web. Ta Mark |

I have used sanwa servos in the past and have found them to be good.
Although i cannot speak from experience, i would give the sanwa RS-995 a go. It has the following specs: 0.06sec/60°, 7.2kg torque, metal gear, ball bearing all at 6v (no 7.2v fet lead!). I would have bought one myself but i wanted a digital servo which would be compatible with the futaba HRS mode. I don't think you would find it for sale in the UK, but champ currently has them at £35 +P&P |

If you have a look on eBay shops you can find some brand-new ko servo's that would normally be around £70 for about £40-50. These are what i use and they have never let me down since, it has been probably just over a year and no sign of it failling or the case breaking. So i would recommend these.

i did use a ace 1015 for my first year back, really good strong servo but ultimately not quite quick enough when u really push so if you can find them second hand then go for a ko 2123, cant remember the number of the digital one, i use the 2123 and got mine second hand 18 months ago, havent looked back since, metal geared and one of the quckest servo's u can get although u have just missed out on the ones chriss had for sale, keep an eye on the forsale section or put a wanted add up

2123 is digital I'm 99% sure, the older 2113 (plastic gear) wasn't but are a good servo as long as you run a servo saver.
