Im not sure, i cant as i have something on. I do have another idea with the battery slots i need to speak to Trish about, not sure how financially viable it will be though.

Lucky people.

The only problem i can see with apoxy in the battery slots is under a heavy impact they would come out as the battery slots are not tappered so have very little to bond to.

To those talking about adding weight - are you doing it to be legal or just to get back to the NiMH battery weight?

I ran my car with a lipo - I did use the original full chasis, and I made weight - car balance was good. Thanks for the info.

Mine is close but not touching. I've got full graphite chassis with original rubber retainers under NiMH cells. It's enough. I raced in this configuration really hard in Wien without problems relating to motor and lipo.
Check previous page - you've got photos of my XX4 with LRP lipo there (post 23).

Been thinking about a good way to mount lipo in a xx4. With running nosram speedo's i have little room to mount a second battery post infront of the cell slots so while looking and thinking today i came up with this idea so used a spare chassis and mounted to extra posts at the back of the cell slots. Ive drawn on the idea for the battery straps the yellow dot will be a screw with a spacer and a nut to stop it sliding. Ill do the same on the other side but a little longer to allow for the extra slot.

Or you could just get the Atomic carbon 2mm battery straps, we have been using and are a diret fit without any modification to your car.

4200 cells, not sure on weight, they were just over half the weight of 4600 cells.

Cheers guys, think i'll weigh my nimh's and make the lipo's up to that weight with lead plate as to keep it in the same place(under lipo's). Don't really want to change the way the car drives/handles.
Is this what most have done?
