Default SkyRC Toro TS 120A

Just bought one of these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3309761435...84.m1423.l2649

SkyRC Toro TS 120A. From what I can gather it's a re-badged Hobbywing V3.1. Should do the job!

It's a smashing looking wee thing. Haven't actually run it yet, but quality looks excellent.

The Tyranosaurus one looks similar. Nearly all the speedos in the world seem to be made by Hobbywing.

Which is good.

I've got the Leopard 9t combo from SkyRC in my truck and can't fault it. Identical to the etronix photon, but a fraction of the price.

So I've bought a Toro TS120 now also and have put it in my DEX410v3 with a 6.5 motor.

Only done some test runs on the road outside my house so far but it's bloomin fast and didn't get warm.

Not got a programming box yet but its on its way, so I'll have a play with the settings and I'm running it at Kiddy this Sunday so I'll know more after the weekend.

Its a nice looking and well made piece of kit though. The built in power button gives it a high end quality feel too.

Wes, have you tried connecting it to a genuine hobbywing box?

Thanks

Paul,

I haven't tried a hobbywing box.

I've got one of these on the way, does it look similar to ahobbywing box?

I have to say it looks identical to a hobbywing v3.1. All the connections, the power button and everything is in the same place as the hobbywing.

I'll try and find out about the firmware and post back on here.

So I ran this ESCin anger today for the first time.

I was at Kidderminster running my dex410v3 ( also for the first time), it was a very warm day in the end, I ran a 6.5 turn motor all day which was getting pretty damn warm by the end if a race but the SKYRC toro ts 120 did not miss a beat. Perfect all day! I must say I'm thinking about buying another one for my 2wd.

Considering i won mine in an ebay auction, brand new for 32 quid its the bargain of the year.

How are people getting on with them?
easy to program?

Why not just get the original program box and save the hassles

My mate runs one had it 6 month no bother never change any setting as he has no programing box....

By the time you buy a prog box and esc in the uk you might aswell buy a vampire (with real customer support and warranty)

These are made by Sky RC and NOT Hobbywing. The Hobbywing Programming box is reported not to work. Having said that it's own Programming Box works fine and I have to say it knocks spots off my old Hobbywing ESC.

The most noticeable difference is the power of the brakes. I have them set at 100% and when you slap the stick back (or the equivalent bit on a steering wheel transmitter) the Toro nearly locks all its wheels solid. Bang! You've stopped!

Acceleration is impressive too. I'm running a 6.5t HPI Pro Flux and am able to run it with a 3 tooth smaller pinion - and still get the same top speed!

Clever little blue box...

Jimmy

£65 uk plus prog box £15ish total £80

leaves £40 for qulity plus backup warranty easy as hell to program smooth and fast

I have heard reports of tax on imports....

If you cant afford a the price of one with warranty you cant afford
to be without a warranty (imho)
