Default YZ-10 '94

Heloo peeps,

I've got a YZ-10 '94 as shown in this link http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4515

My question is, if I was thinking about selling it how much should i consider asking for it? Obviously it depends on the condition but it's in decemt enough condition for a raced car thats 18 years, not been raced since '96 though

A suggestion on a minimum or a range would help me at least.

Thanks
Wes

Depends obviously on the condition, but in my (limited) experience they are rare but sturdy cars.

Current ebay end-of-auction listings have seen them go between £200-300. Some of these auctions started at £0.01 and no reserve.

The Works editions (91,92,93 and 95) seem to go for more. If yours has various hop-ups (some of which are rare), then it may even go further.

I think the yz10 series are awesome and look so aggressive!

Don't sell yours...though some actual pics would be nice

Hey Naushad,

It is a great car, I would race it but i don't think the belts etc would survive the lipo/brushless power thats now required for competitive racing.

If I sell it I would then have a nice chunk of cash to put towards a modern 4wd car, I only race 2wd right now and would like to do both.

It needs a good clean up but I will put some pics up of it in the state it's in and then some more when it's been cleaned up and sorted!

Arran,

Hello Mate.

Do you reckon the belts would survive lipo/brush less power?

Keep it and run it i say, biggest regret i had was selling my old 94. I now have another, and its beautiful, itll go to the grave with me lol.
Parts arent that hard to find, patience is key, ive managed to build up quite a spares back up in only a few months of searching.

Awesome! decision made then guys!

I will keep it and get it running! On question......if i'm running saddle lipos do i need some type of bracket to stop the lipo's sliding about on top of the carbon chassis?

I think it will go with lipo and brushless. Try some small weights to enclose the saddles or servo tape wrapped around through the slots. I've yet to try this.

Post some pics when you can!

You could bag some LRP Lipos that have the bumps on the lower casing?

That's a good idea Lee! But will lipo height be and issue? I think the LRPs are pretty slim anyhow but I have measured up.

glue some lipo locators to the bottom of your lipos (only a couple of quid from demon)

you can raise the height of the battery retainer posts with some spacers (2 - 3 mm should do the trick)

Are you gonna run it at dudley? will be great to see it in action

if they are the normal 3mm pitch belts, they are the same spec as the belts in modern buggies and touring cars. As they are just standard industrial drive belts, you can even find replacements on ebay. Usually the problem is the layshaft pulleys wearing out.
