Default KF2 Driveshaft Pin Replacement

In the Schumacher U1633 speedpack there are two 2.5MMx11MM pins which can be used to replace the driveshaft pins.

How to:

1. Heated up the driveshaft slightly with a heat gun.

2. Support the end of the driveshaft with a small socket and tap out the pin with one of the other smaller pins.

3. Gently tap the new pin into place so it sits equally either side of the driveshaft.

There was not much wear on the Diff outdrives or the driveshaft UJ.

It should get me more drive time before buying a new pair of driveshafts.

Hope it helps someone out

Hi bish,

I'm not sure, if that fits to schumacher driveshafts, but hudy(x-ray) does have a tool for that kind of replacement!

Here is the linke to the austrian x-ray shop:

Hope that helps, too!?

Haha, yes i saw that. Bear in mind i was so tight i didn't want to spend $38 on driveshafts, let alone 99 Euro's on a tool!

Thanks though, i did consider it as long term (if the UJ lasts), it would make sense.

It was a risk i was willing to take!

The Schumacher pins are 2.5mm and the Hudy tool is for 3mm, that may be an issue pushing the pin all the way out?

I would not buy it eather, i would do it that way, you described!
As i'm not racing that much, i never had that much wear on my driveshafts/pins...
...and, as i'm an old school mechaniks, i allways look for some tools in my garage, or my hobby room, to do things like that, before buying one.

I more wanted to show the instruction of the tool, to show people that/how it works.
