Default Mardave newbie help

Hi guys, a little help please.

Hot my boy a mardave V12. I have only ever run 1/10 buggies.

Bought the car second hand and the shells were shot. Bought an Ascari shell from kamtec.

Cut and painted the shell and put it on the car, then drilled the holes.

Problem. The back seems massively low down, I have trimmed some of the bumper off but its still too low, wheels not clearing arches etc.

Do I need to trim more or are there some taller posts I should be using? If so can anyone tell me which ones i need to get.

Thanks in advance:-)

You need taller posts. Have a look round the Mardave site (http://www.mardave.co.uk) and find what you have now to compare to what you need. On the V12VRX we use the Worlds body posts VR19W for the Ascari. HTH

Andy,

I use the adjustable 'Worlds" front posts on the rear of my car. They are lighter and easier to adjust when I swap shells that some other mounting systems out there.

It is also possible to add spacers between the bottom of the the posts and the chassis if a previous owner has trimmed the posts shorter and you need a bit of extra height on them.

Hope this helps,

James

PS. A helpful tip - depending on how and where you mount your rear wing it can be hard to get to the rear body pins. However, if you turn the posts so that the holes face front to rear rather than side to side and add a cable tie to your body pins you can easily access the posts from the back of the car.
