Exclamation New Venue for 2012?

Guys,

Thought I'd give this an airing in public.

I've got a meeting tomorrow about a possible change fo venue for 2012. It would mean a loss of any type of facilities, power, toilets etc etc and be 'in the sticks', pretty remote to be honest.

It's on some private land and it measures about 45 acres It's South of the A31, not to far from Wrecclesham. I would be allowed to use diggers etc etc to make 'whatever I wanted'...... There is not much grass (would'nt even grow here) so it would need to be Astro.

Would you travel to a different place if the track was twice the size but without facilities?

Hi Mate,
Not too sure I'd be able to make it 'on time' for the regular tuesday night evenings, with the extra travel, but I'd give it a go, and will have more time for the w/e's too now...

All you need is a porter loo like torch as you have the burger van for major events so no different to now so for you I think it's worth looking at if it makes a better track for the future

Another 10-15 min drive makes no odds to me. Sounds like quite a project, don't mind lending a hand if it means a big track to play on.

Monster track Jelly

With all the talk in the General section about the Worlds not being held in the UK 'cause there's no dirt tracks, what are the chances of making it dirt only? Or is that a nightmare to maintain? Just thinking of the future possibilities....

Sounds like a good idea...
I like the idea of astro, the location is almost secondary, but still good for me.

The extra drive for a massive track (you can dig) is no problem at all.

Met the land owner today.... so, who wants to take a look at the proposed site.

Firstly is HUGE, 45 acres of mix woodland and grassed area. My main concern in security, or rather lack off. Think there is a play off between size of space and knowing most of the kit is still in place when you need it!

I'd be up for a look too...

(although I do still like the current grass set up)..

Security could be an issue, also what about crosser bikes etc?
