Major work party 27 March & pic update
On Saturday 27 March, we are planning on having a major push on the developments we are making to the track.
We are aiming to have two large bags of top soil delivered on the day which needs to be used to build up some of the infield sections, reprofile some of the areas of the track that have dropped and of course form part of the new track features. There are kerbs and corner marking to be removed, as well as Astroturf sections that we will be patching. We have been promised an angle grinder and other tools, whilst the club has access to most of the other items that we will need to carry the work out including shovels, a pick-axe, tamper, etc. We would really like to see as many helpers as possible, and will make sure that you are kept fed and watered as a thank you. Come rain or shine, the usual suspects will be there from 9am as its not long until the National. Please let us know if you can make it and if you are able to bring anything that may be of use. Drop me an e-mail or PM if you are going to make it. We look forward to seeing our track ideas take shape... Thanks |

Work Party & Practice - Saturday 27 March 2010
A Work Party AND a Practice Session!
Weather permitting, a hopefully LARGE group of us will be trackside from approx. 09:00AM Saturday morning, for several hours (probably 'til mid-afternoon), we are planning to use the day for extensive track works, developments and repairs (track & fence), tidying and the usual track maintenance, so any help/expertise would be welcomed, please see: http://www.edenparkraceway.com/ Also if you have any useful, additional tools (hand or power!) please bring them along, shovels, forks, rakes, hammers (both LARGE and small). We'll also be needing a large (9") disc cutter (cgee?), possibly a kango, picks and crow bars, anything and everything maybe of use! As per usual, everybodies welcome, young or old, newbie or pro, if there's any advice you want or help needed you only have to ask! But please note, again there is A LOT OF WORK to be done BEFORE we can think about getting the buggies out! Will also have a quantity of members equipment that has been put up for sale should anybody be interested, cars; radio equipment, motors, chargers, dischargers, batteries, wheels, tyres and spares, lots available, come and have a look No doubt the urn will also get fired up from time to time for hot drinks! Hopefully the on-site cafe will be open like previous weekends, highly recommended sausage baguettes! PLEASE NOTE: THOSE DRIVERS WHO HAVEN'T PREVIOUSLY, SHOULD NOW BE URGENTLY THINKING ABOUT EITHER RENEWING OR TAKING OUT BOTH THEIR CLUB AND BRCA MEMBERSHIPS, application forms for all memberships are available here: http://www.edenparkraceway.com/about.htm And we'll make sure we have some with us trackside. There is a thread already for this showing the work we have already begun. Can I suggest that if posible, we meet up with Chris to get the 9' angle grinder as it would be nice to cut the kerbs first thing.... |

Over the course of the day from 9am this morning, we have removed some six sections of kerbs and filled in the holes, dug out the new cobble section ready for next week, tidied up the Astro on the large table top and ironed out some bumps after the small table top.
The approach to the Raceway bend has been improved and the section where we have removed part of the tarmac has had the RSJ cut down and made neater. We had a large delivery of top soil arrive first thing and this has been used to build up some of the infield sectiosn that have dropped. The Astroturf on the infield inside the Raceway bend has been taken up, top soil added and just waiting on seeding. Think that's about it! Many thanks to all that helped and are donating towards the club. |

Removing of kerbs to make it easier on the cars? Has the corner after the table top been changed?
Looking forward to seeing it on the 11th April. |

No! Just so you've got less to hit Mike!!!
What corner after which table top? We've got at least THREE table tops! And where's the best picture of the day? Oh that won't be on Matt's camera 'cos he was looking at the sky at the time! Can confirm that the new grass seed has been spread, more rain please! Seriously though, fantastic effort chaps, good turn-out and maximum effort, thanks! |

Eh! What's wrong with that one?
For those that don't know, it's an almost flat, drive-able, lowered, concrete bot-dot style corner marker! |

Didn't say anything was wrong with it.... Anyway I'll just see it on the 11th

10 April Work Party
Many thanks for all the help on Saturday - it proved to be a very productive day with lots getting done.
I am afraid that we will need to have two or more of these in the run up to the National with the next one on 10 April. We will hopefully be in a position to refit the Astro around the cobbles and tidy up all that area in general, and it would also be great if we could get the work started on the adverse camber too. Hope to see you all there once again |
