Default H2 PRO RESULTS SO FAR

So let's go through the results so far with the H2 PRO has anyone been making progress with it?

Used it for two meetings so far on astro.

Improved loads the 2nd meeting as I managed to strip 2x spur gears in the first as the pinion wasn't working for me so changed it.

I am having trouble with getting speed through corners without it either lifting a wheel or rolling. The tyres should be worn in from the meetings now.

Any advice?

Hi mate what turn motor are u using? the car is good enough with 10.5 plenty of corner speed if using mid motor. Also just go with standard spur gear that comes with car, 24 pinion that should all do good as well also depends on how much camber your using on the car.

Well I stripped two 76 teeth spur so has to change it.

I have 82 spur with a 21 pinion on a 6.5t motor.

Not sure what I could change really

It runs fine straights and slow cornering but I can't throw it in with speed.

To much power is not the key 6.5 is a lot that's my personal view, have u tried putting 1 degree camber on rear and 0 on the front that should also work but try this with the standard 7.2 layout

Ill give that a try.

To be honest, i have turned the top end down as im not used to the speed yet!

Most of the guys use 6.5 to 7.5.

Im using full size stick. Its balanced well, just gotta get the handling through the corners faster

Getting used to the speed can be tricky u have to have a good setup so that car can handle it, try using 4 hole shock pistons all round as well should help car around corners a bit more use kit springs see how u go on

Well I'm running 4 holes already with 30wt fr and 27.5wt rear with associated grey springs.

Ive always heard the kit springs are too hard for the rear?

My set up is pretty much Keith Robertsons four silverstone astro.

So ive put the kit springs on the front and gonna give that a try see if it stops that wheel kicking up.

Hi have you tries Phil Sleigh's setup it worked well for me the other week on astro, the only problem I had was my numpty driving lol. the only change I made for me was to move to the inside hole on the front wishbone.

U should be ok with that what is your ride height on the front? 20mm ride height works great

20mm is what u most need works perfect on astro and grass and works really good when goin on ramps etc, nothing less than 20mm I would say

Well I ran 19mm but one of drivers said it was still too high!
Ill give it a try Tuesday and see how I get on.

Well I managed to tweak a few things with the car and I'm getting used to the handling now. I stiffened the front end up and it has stopped raising the rear wheels now and has great rear grip too. Although I'm running 21t pinion with 82t spur I'm gonna change back to factory to see if that makes a difference at all, prob less acceleration out of corners I'm guessing?

Had my first practice with the H2 today.

Was at ARC raceway outdoors on astro.

Set up was Losi Yellow rear springs with Associated 27.5wt oil on 4 hole pistons.

Front Losi Blue springs with 30wt oil on 4 hole pistons

DBoots multibyte rears in A compound AKA closed cell inserts

Dboots blockpass front in A compund Aka closed cell inserts

Car was ok in the corners and over the jumps but was very unsettled over the bumpy astro especially the rear.

Should I go lighter on the oil or softer springs or even both?

Sounds about right, very close to my set up. Are you in the inner or outer rear wishbone shock hole? I would recommend inner on the rear for a softer shock. What is your ride height? Make sure its not bottoming out on the bumps.

Inner lower rear shock hole. Had the ride height set to run with the drive shafts level about 20mm IIRC. also unscrewed the shock mounts to get some droop on the rear as well.

Puzzling! I'm running Losi yellow spring rear, associated 25wt oil, inner wishbone, middle tower, 4 hole pistons. 22 - 23mm ride height all round. Its fine at Tiverton (bumpy grass / astro).

The only other thing I can think of is to check the rebound on the shocks, take the spring off and compress. The shock shaft should creep out slowly. If it shoots out and hard to fully compress to much oil, you will need to bleed a bit out.
