Nice work Damon. I got to see these in the flesh last night when Daz dropped off my TF Evo chassis. There's just something about fresh carbon
If the lipo mounts work out for Darren then I might have to look into a set. It just doesn't feel right running Team Associated cradles in a Kyosho

Great and know it put a smile on your face. I got annoyed today as been on A final pace with my team sponsered Sworks car but just drove badly and ended up in the C. Really was annoyed so got my zxrs out and after a rebuild put it on the grid, got the lead and started pulling quite a lead and could have made top end of the B with the pace i was going at until lap 7 or so when it just stopped. Really annoying but car was dialed, so easy to drive, turned on a dime and was really fun to drive and that has put a huge smile on my face after a really depressing day.

Ok, hoping i get a reply but have emailed someone regarding a 3d drawing of the ZX knuckle arm, Im after the inner two holes where the end of the kingpins reach to be countersunk as ive a simple resolution to ever losing king pins again, plus getting fed up that this is one of the most problematic item ive had and cost me numerous A finals. Plan is to use a countersunk screw just long enough to get in via the bearing hole section and have enough thread to get attached to via a lock nut which is going to be attached on the castor block side. Once ive a 3d version made up im going to try and get a few pairs made up in alloy or plastic.

Once done just got to sort out my gearbox issues.

Does anyone have the smaller motor plate that attaches to the main one, I think its LA-19.
James I can't recall does the white spur that takes a B4 slipper pad work on a standard zx or zx-r layshaft and do I use ZX or ZX-R slipper plates, are they any different?
I'm building up the first tub runner for my friend with your gearbox design, I need to shim the diff bearings besides the Kyosho 8mm shims of which I have none what are my options.
I'll post pics when its done, it will be a nice piece of gear and the practice run for my runner. We are both using the touring car solid rear axle, i.e. a gear diff housing with a solid axle going right across, no actual gears inside just a cross pin

RW still has the older design spur that fits ae slipper pad and the spur goes on original kyosho layshaft.

Thanks, have a pair of those spur gears, just wasn't sure what else I would need if anything.

Onto a different question, what are the options for the thrust bearing on the layshaft?

Sorry for dealyed response, no is the answer, youll need to buy the zx spur for that however ive a couple somewhere so will have a look and send to you, we can work something out for them. Pm me your address again.

I use the same shims for the diff bearings to push the bearings out to get a perfect fit, but only do this on the opposite side of the diff gear. Unsure how its going to handle with a solid axle.

I use the zx thrust bearing which was designed for the layshaft but you can also uee a bearing instead as ive done that also.

I have the white RW spur here, not the one that works with the VTS setup but the first version, does that not work on a Kyosho layshaft?
I don't have any 8mm ID shims left but ordered some from 3racing
What size normal bearing would one use instead of the thrust bearing?

I checked last night, the spur in question has the holes for the diff balls so it must be the ZX spur gear.

I designed it for zx or zxr. Think its also got the b4 slipper pad section on it as well. The standard bushing for the zx spur gear size should be in the manual. Think its 3x6 or 3x8

Excellent, thanks for the info.
What size regular bearing can you substitute for the thrust bearing between the pulleys or do I need to bite the bullet and buy some new Kyosho thrust bearings?
