410 rear drive shaft Q
Hi all
Wondering if your dex410 rear drive shafts, from the spur back get warm when you drive? Mine does and just wondering if somethings running too tight or is it fine? |

Check to make sure the pin is seated properly mine did get warm then I put some shrink tube around the pin and solved the problem almost completely as I do think they get slightly warm just from running.

The cvd joint does get very warm unless you put a small amount of grease on there.. It only needs the smallest amount. Give it a quick clean first too.

all 3 of the 410's at our club come off with red hot rear shafts. I thought something was wrong on another car until I checked mine and found the same thing lol

Driveshaft boot around my rear one with a small amount of black grease in there kept mine cooler. Now running the D-joints which run much much cooler.

I found that the slipper adjust nut was touching the bulkhead where the pin goes through to hold the battery. I ended up getting the new plastic rear holder for the spur. Also make sure that bearings do not have any slop on the spur.

its generally a problem by shaft driven buggys. It´s ineffeciency of the shaft system. So you know why belts are used in Touring Cars.
Look if your slipper is locked to much, or maybe your rear suspension travel is to much. brgds |
