Will it be a full conversion kit or for those with the Gen 2 can we just order the new chassis?

Surely the RB5 would be more popular than the RB6?

I agree that its a new car and all..... But considering the RB6 is ~£360 then the conversion is £210.... Why would I spend the extra £210 on an already(GOOD!) mid motor car?

The 22 conversion I thinks a good idea, mainly because I thought the 22 was crap in mid motor!

On the other hand, If there was a GEN3 RB5, I would have already bought it for the £210....

They have taken the time to make the B4/B4.1 & 201 which are of about the same age as the RB5? The RB5 is not old tech by any means and to be honest I swear by them!

Considering you may want to use alloy rear hangers, alloy steering and maybe even small bores and RB5 arms, only the front is needed to complete a RB6 Gen III once you have a RB5 and parts at hand.

I'm considering it, try to know if the RB6 shell could fit as well as pictures of the new shell.

100% agree with you both coleman and tomtom, the best 2wd buggy i have owned is my rb5 gen2 wc for outdoors, does everything its says it does on the tin and looks fantastic.Shame that a chassis wasnt/hasnt been made for the gen2 rb5 boys as the rb6 gen3 uses at min the rb5 vega box and like tomtom said the only part of the rb6 is the front as everything else is rb5.

Thats why im going for the Tamiya gen3 when its out but wont be selling the gen2 rb5 wc.

Do you have a parts list of what you'll need?

So in theory, If you own an RB5....

You could have an RB6 Gen3 Vega, For less than the cost of the RB6 Kit....

ME LIKE!

I'm going to have a look at this in more detail. Looking at it all you would actually need is the front bulkhead setup & Steering assembly. All the wishbones, hubs & carriers, shocks, turnbuckles etc could carry from the RB5

Ok, this is my theory.

Assuming you have an RB5... The rear end is pretty much taken care of, The GB using the RB5 & Vega Kit. With exception of the RB6 wishbones although they will come with the front ones.

Now the front, Assuming i'm going to use the RB5 Hubs & Carriers, The RB6 ones could be used too but its a few more parts...

This is what I think you need:

UM704 - Upper Plate - £9.49
UM703 - Bulkhead - £7.75
UM718 Steering Cranks - £6.76
UM716 Crank Arms - £7.75
LA256 Spacers - £5.99
BRG002 Bearings - £4.99
UM712 - Wishbones (FR & RR) - £8.50 X2 (£17.00)
UM720 - FR Plate - £13.49
UM707 - Shock Tower - £8.50
UM710 - Bumper - £6.76

I make that £88.48 (Inside Line Racing)

You could make it a touch less if you used the RB5 wishbones

So....

Vega 3 Kit - £210
Front End ~£88

~£298 + RB5

I have more RB5 stuff than Kyosho! So all is good.

I build my Vega with parts like Coleman758 said. But i used Exotek part and Lunsford parts also. So the car barely has any kyosho parts... Vega rb6.JPG

Default RB6 Vega Gen III

Here are some pictures of my RB6 Vega Gen III.

While it may have taken longer than expected to get here and included a few speed bumps along the way it built superbly well and I'm very happy with the quality of the product. I'm still not convinced about the bodyshell styling but it is a huge improvement over the older bodies to my eyes.
