Default Spring league

Did that get your attention?

Just to get your juices going - here are the results from 5th Feb.

Anyone got some ideas for additional track obstacles?

I'm not so sure about any more obstacles tbh, gotta be careful not to detract from the racing too much. I did like that new little ramp tho (after the block of wood was taken out), lol.
Just a thought on track layout tho...
We have two ramps, why not arrange them as a ramp to ramp fly-over? i.e. Track comes back through the gap under the fly-over??

Default New little ramp

that was a piece of facia (as in the bit near a house roof) I found - does anyone know a builder that could supply us with bits of off cuts?

Personally I like the obstacles.

We can only use carpet now (no more bare wooden floor, as we were causing damage to it) so I think some small obstacles are a good way to give more of an offroad feel to an essentially onroad track.

I see them as part of the racing, not a detraction from it and I also think they act as a bit of a 'leveller' between the top and lower drivers.

Good idea about the facing ramps, but we may need to add a board between them if we have cars going underneath(?) Not all our drivers have cars with the oomph to clear a 2 metre gap.

Fair points.

How about a 'ring of fire' too between the ramps? Would you Marshall that Jimbob?

A ring of fire sounds great. If I have another night like Wednesday though I would be on fire. And that isn't a complement to my driving.

An up and over does sound fun though.

Can anybody get some Lino? If we can get some, this will add another surface.

I've took a look at floor lino and we're talking £5.00 sqm so we'd be talking quite a bit of money just for one strip.
With regards to the obstacles, the last week or so the track was hard work in my opinion and I think it was because the jumps and humps were spread all around the track rather than concentrated on only on a few corners etc.
There were no sections where you could relax, you needed 100% attention all of the time, and I suppose if you took your eye of the ball at the wrong time you really did pay for it.

I can certainly understand why some people don't want more obstacles as it could turn on to an obstacle course rather than a race track.
I don't care how hard it is to race, but we've just got to get the balance right for everyones ability.

See you all Wednesday.
