Default What about Tamiya's DF-03 Slipper unit?

As far as I can tell it's available now.
Has anyone installed one yet?

bye,

I use a special layshaft from RW Racing and a B4 slipper unit, to move across to 48dp.

Hrm.

Assuming that this one performs similar to tamiya's, is it worth the 40$?

I've never had the chance to compare a car without slipper to one with a slipper.

Who sells the rw item ?
The advantage over the tamiya item is I guess cost and availability of the spares. Dont get me wrong, I haven't even built my Impact yet, never mind seen the tamiya slipper, but the AE unit is race proven.

Jim, erm, RW sell it, got to email him though, lol.

The slipper will take the load off the rear diff, and it defo needs it, as the rear diff, although good, isn't up to much (due to Tamiya inbuilt spares creation grrrr).

Both slippers work the same, just one will use Tamiya .5module spur gears and the other, AE 48dp spurs.

I fitted the slipper to mine before it was sold, worked OK and is definatley required for any motor above standard.
Have a look on ebay for the aluminium clutch covers too, as the plastic one starts to distort when hot and then doesnt fit properly, should help with the motor cooling as there is a lack of airflow.

I understand that 3Racing are doing a chassis conversion for the DF-03, keep you informed of that one....

I've received the df-03 slipper kit from tamiya last week (not installed yet).

What do you think about the differential durability of the dark impact compared to kyosho's lazer?
