Not happy...
Finally got my Alloy rear Hubs after being on order for over 5 weeks...and the bearings wont fit!!
Really pisses me off. The outer bearings fit on one of them...but the inner fittings have no chance. Shoddy shoddy work. The spares situation from Ansmann is really messing up these cars. Do anyone know if I heat them up a bit, would that expand the alloy? I know it's a hell of a thing to try but it's about the only thing I can think of atm. J |

I don't think Heating them up would work, only make it harder to get in as the metal expands.
Sorry to hear they don't fit.

I think he means heat the hubs up not the bearings. If you can get hold of a vernier caliper see what the difference is. Heating alloy and maybe freezing the bearings may work, but you have to consider removing them at a later date.

On all 3 of my cars that have them i had to dremel the inside of the hub because there were some binding issues. Everyone that i know had to do the same! bUT ON yours if the bearing doesnt fit sounds like u got one that was really messed up!

send them back as this sounds worng i got mine today and they went on fine like rob a little brush with the dremel but otherwise it went on good

I would of thought that they would check to see if a bearing fits before packaging it and selling it anyway?

if they did i assure you you would still be waiting for it nw how long would that take? are you sure you have the right bearing its a 10x5x8

what is the internal bore dimension on the alloy hubs, they should be >=10.05mm for decent fittage.

I'm doing a direct swap of the ball racers
I'm concerned about sending them back as it took over 5 weeks to get this pair...I can't be arsed to be honest waiting for more. But at £35 it's a painful issue. What's worse..is I ordered them so long ago I can't actually remember where I finally got them from LOL... wonder if that invoice is still sitting somewhere... J |

It's not just a tight fit..it's an impossible fit. I don't think whacking it with a hammer would even make them think of going in the holes...and the chances of ever getting them out would be zero even if that did work. J |

hmm thats a strange one then i would say send them back i have never found any qc issues like this

are they anodized? could it be the anodizing that has made them too small?
if that is the case, remove the anodizing and see if that helps.... |

Best thing to do is to use a 10mm H7 reamer.
Any local machine shop would have one and for a small fee I'm sure they'd do it for you. The tolerance for a bearing fit is H7 which for a 10mm bore is +0.000mm / +0.021mm so you will most definately not be able to measure that with calipers. |

Fwiw: the bearings fit in my alum blocks perfectly. No trimming, dremel ect.
One time i wasnt so lucky with a .21 Go engine, the shaft for the clutch bearings was .5mm too big. Dealer said "thats never happened before". So yes these things happen sometimes, its a matter of quality control at the manufacturer. My plastic hub snapped seemingly easy when landing short on a big tripple. I think the plastic is a little on the brittle side. I hope the arms have more give. |

Could someone tell me...how tight a fit these are actually supposed to be ?
I'm about to mill a fraction of a mm off mine...but was wondering what I should aim for... Thanks.. J |
