Motor plate - how to fix or get replacment?
I finally got to race my Madrat for the first time today, a long time after I acquired it on eBay in a job lot (thanks to mole2k for the rebuild!) at a rain-lashed Griffeen Park in Lucan, near Dublin.
It went really well, and seemed to suit my driving, until I took note that as I'd feared, the screws into the motor plate had pulled out, threadlock and all. One was lost. I'm hoping to take this car to the Oople Invernational, so I either need a replacement or a repair/modification. I could re-tap the holes with epoxy (this worked with the front shock tower mount on a BJ4 I'm rebuilding), or acquire a new one before Thursday. I'm also considering acquiring a spare kit for parts - this would have the problem-free motor plate and latest T-piece. Any suggestions and/or sources for parts? Edit: Just found the part number for the plate - 125000313 - £13.99 or thereabouts - makes the spare kit more attractive.

Contact annsman they will send you a replacement Screw kit to fix it. You must have bought an early model that's been on the shelf a while. Might be worth asking for the new t piece at the same time.

Budgio is correct...this is an issue of the early runs of madrats, you can jerry fit it as nicefrog says by reversing the bolts...but best bet is to order up a new screw set...possibly a new motor mount too
 ..it's only about £8 for the lot...J

On my mid motor mad rat, ive made a new motor plate and mounted the screws through the spur gear side by countersinking the motor plate and four nuts on the other side, job done

For a quick fix you can use a centre-punch and whack the motor plate about 1mm around the holes. I did this with mine and around six punches around each hole got the thing solid again.

I have done a mod to put screw abd nut, no problem so far, but stock motor plate is to shallow, I bend one, and I'm pretty sure the one I have now is bended too
