currently building up my first schumacher ever, have to say that i am super impressed with what i have seen so far. long time kyosho fan but have ran xray, associated and even the disastrous eb410 recently. ive got a good feeling about the L1 and think it will do well on my super grip carpet track!

i kind of went overboard with the hopups and bought pretty much everything available ..
going to run the car stock first at least once and then everything will make its way onto the chassis. im thinking most beneficial items will be the aluminium diff housing and S2 towers along with the regular things like springs/swaybars..

has anyone ran the 4 or 3 pad slipper upgrade? in all my previous 4wd's i have had issues with slippers slipping and inconsistent feel when they warm up, which i have generally fixed by using fibreglass mckune pads, hoping the 4 pad schumacher solution will be the ticket here.

Just go straight to the s2 towers, we run them everywhere.

I have ran kit slipper but I've just ordered the 3 plate slipper to see how it feels compared to kit.

I did not get on with the 4 pad slipper in the K2 and KF2 as I often found the inner most pad would slip under har acceleration so converted them back to 2 pad slippers. It is also advisable to use the newer slipper spring U7065 which comes with newer schumacher kits as a running change. I find that the white schumacher slipper pads to be inconsistent and are smaller than the slipper slot in the spur gear so I change them for AE slipper pads.

LD is a great car too, I really like it. Fantastic amount of side bite compared to KC.
For the L1, the original chassis is on the weak side especially if you run Astro and high grip carpet. I would recommend the HD top decks. Also the S2 shock mounts. Get one of MO setup sheet and start from there.

Very happy with my L1 so much better than the K2. Click here for my setup and have just put the HD top decks on and it is really good.

Hi guys,
my new cat L1 is on the way, I will use the car on astro and carpet only. I have saddle packs only at the minute, I am wondering if it wont compromise the car handling rather than use the shorty battery. Any advise please?

Thanks

Does the L1 shell fit on the K1/K1 Aero series?

I haven’t tried but would doubt it would fit snug or would need to be cut higher at rear end as much lower clearance at the rear on the L1, I may be wrong?

Help!

Hi All,
I am building the CAT L1 and the layshaft (step 11 - step 12 in the manual) has axial play. I've used the shim (the only one) provided but its playing a bit in my opinion. I cannot attached here the video because its not possible. I hope you understand anyway and give me advice.

Thanks

its normal, you can fix by a bit of loctice on the bearings into the houseing, but the play does not effect the car at all
