Default emb1 carisma motor

Just wondering if anyone knows if the carisma team spec motor is same size as the emb stock motor ? As in shaft size and diameter ?

well I know the carisma is a 24mm can with a 2mm shaft, and im fairly sure the emb is a 28mm can with a 3.2mm(1\8") shaft, someone else may be able to confirm this

That sounds familiar, i know the EMB motor wont fit in a GTB as it is a bigger can, and i have a feeling the pinions dont fit either because of the shaft.

One of our club guys also burnt out his carisma motor in an EMB, think it didnt have the torque for the car.

That's spot on the emb motor is a 28mm can size with 3.2mm shaft, it is a shame it won't fit in the gtb because it is a cracking 4 pole motor although if you want 4 pole in the gtb I would look at http://www.smartteknik.se/uk/brushle...v-4-polig.html

I use the 2838 5200kv in my emb and it is a cracking motor that I would say is better than stock emb motor.

Default Stick with stock or......

I'm no leccy guru but have done some recent reading and you could put a FSD2848 5621KV motor in with your 60A esc then use tamiya 0.5mod pinions slightly fettled out for 50-60mph on 2S but it'll eat outdrives quicker than tyres and probably be unusable in a racing situation....

I'd stick to stock and upgrade the ESC as the spec suggests the motor may benefit from 60A, from what I've heard its supposed to give the motor abit midrange and you maybe ok to run 19T pinion and rallyblocks without motor heat issues...That should give you plenty for a long straight..thats what I'll be doing anyway...

But please someone else comment on the EZRUN 60A 19T rallyblocks set-up as I'm not too sure. In fact I'm not too sure about anything I just said so please anyone with knowledge chip in..LOL

No you can't put a EMB-1 motor in a Carisma because it won't fit.

Would the HW xtreme stock 60a be a good esc for 4 pole motor like the EMB-1 kit motor ?

I use a 60a trackstar esc, although the hw 60a or similar will be fine, I raised the body mounts though so it had room under the shell, I run 19t pinion on the 2838 5200kv leopard motor and it is better than the stock motor I have been side by side with my son's running stock motor which can be used ok with the 35a esc but I feel the 60a gives that extra secure feeling that it can handle everything and keep the temps under control but each to there own.

A 35a is also fine, I run a 35a at national level and it's never missed a beat. If you already have a EMB-1, it comes with a 35a as a RTR I believe.

Yes the rtr esc is 35a with a 25a heat sink to reduce the size, and it does work ok with the stock 4 pole motor, my son uses it with the stock motor without any issue and I used to use it when I had the stock motor in mine.

17t does make it wheelie a lot and is mental with the stock wheels on, the 19t makes a big difference with setting off with out wheelies and makes it more controllable for sure, I have tried the 3 pinions that come with the kit that's the 17,18 and 19 and the 19 is the better choice

The EMB motor may not fit a GTB, but it fits the older GT14B and GT14B Pro - I have had one in each, currently residing in the GT16MT (a GT14B chassis) as that seemed most worthy of the larger motor...
