Tried the YZ-2 on a mixture of astro and grass today, quite bumpy and was very greasy as the track got damp, tried it in kit format and then tried it with shocks on the rear. It was a bit edgy to drive but not changing anything just yet as I've just ordered some Dboots to try on it.
Heres a video excuse the shoddy driving haven't been racing outdoors for 2 years!!! It should work the video is on my Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/callum.mitchell.7731 |

Well i tried out the Bmax4 arm set up, along with the rear brass pivot blocks. Went out with a firm rear on purple Yatabe and orange Yatabe front, lacked some rear grip intially, won the heat. Swapped out for the only other rear springs i had (green kit) and that was very good, maybe a little too soft, im still waiting for my orange ones to land.
Car seemed very planted though, won three of my four heats, poled the B (im not exactly a fast guy lol) but came in 3rd as i leave my brain on the table in finals. Id have liked a slightly firmer rear but hopefully i can try that this week when my other springs land. Loving the car, its really helping me improve, before this car i really was shocking, but its enjoyable pushing it harder. lee

My gear diff sweats/seaps in my pit box, despite only filling to the cross pins and a new, greased gasket, cant get it to seal well at all!

Out of interest for those with leaking diffs did you just fill it as it came or did you strip it down as when I built mine the O rings were dry so I have regressed them with green slime and also used some black grease on the out drives as I put them to the diff for the first assembly
Just took mine out after running the diff in to change the oil and nothing has leaked from the diff

Also what kind of servo horn is everyone using? Will the fastrax alloy one I used in the Kfs be ok ?

Offset is too close to servo. I used the yokomo alloy one, which fits perfectly. Huddy would be ok and maybe cheap answerrc with offset. I did strip the kit plastic horn, so it's a useful upgrade.

Pretty sure it's the gasket that's the leak path, mine leaked initially but has been fine since having a new gasket.

Ran the YZ-2 at Tiverton RC Club today, after a few tweeks it was spot on. The new astro section was very slippery due to the amount of sand but grip levels are starting to come up now.
I qualified 9th in the A final not bad for the first race on astro and ended up finishing in 6th, I was the only YZ-2 in the A think, would be nice to see some more trackside!!! |

Thanks for that mate.
While I'm at it can anybody tell me the part number of the machined 1.6 and 1.7 pistons? I'm on the MB website but can't seem to work out which are machined and which ones aren't? Are the machined ones tapered? Chris
