Default 2011 Autumn Indoor Championships - starts Friday 14 October

It's time again to go wheel to wheel as we begin another 7 week championship at the club. First round starts on Friday 14 October and we run through until 25 November

Points will be published here:

http://www.bedsrcmcc.co.uk/championship-autumn2011.php

Please pre-book here:

http://www.bedsrcmcc.co.uk/race-booking.php

Classes will be:
  • Touring Cars TC F1 & F2 (Street will run if anyone runs them but no trohpies for this class yet until we have enough members running street)
  • Mardave F1, F2 & F3

See other thread regards to the rules for Mardaves, but basically we are banning the aluminium motor mounts that crept in during the last Championships, though there is a concession in the use of Z-drive/delrin spur and 48dp spur gears as many of the members seemed to have already got these and although they may be a little more robust than the Mardave parts, they are not performance enhancing which is more critical to ensure we have level playing field for everyone.

However, we shall be keeping a check on all cars this time to ensure nothing else finds it way onto the cars during the Championships

We shall be handing out the trophies for the Summer Championship at the beginning of the evening on Friday and also please note that this week only, we do not have the small hall so we shall be setting up tables at the far end of the hall for pits, so we will be running a slightly smaller track for the first round. Make sure you get in early to secure your place in the pits.

Please note that we have also been quite lenient on pausing the computer over recent weeks, now that we are back into Championship mode this will not be the case. Once we know how many rounds we have I shall be setting the time between heats to ensure that we complete the evenings racing on time, so when the computer starts, it only stops to sort the finals. The only other time the computer should be stopped is if there is a technical fault with the timing beam.

Likewise with the marshalling, it has got a bit sloppy of late and we shall be deducting points for those who are not on their post at the start of the race they should be marshalling.

A huge thank you to those of you who have been notifiying us if you have got someone else to marshall for you - that's very much appreciated.

To end on a positive...

The standard of driving is getting much better and it's great to see drivers going wheel to wheel, yet still giving each other space. The starts to finals is still crazy but I guess that'll never change So keep it up everyone as we look forward to some great races in the weeks ahead

Don't forget that we have our Monday meetings too, 3 this month, see the race schedule for dates:

Good luck to everyone taking part in the clubs 2011 Autumn Championships
