Default Your first real car crash

Having started the What was your first real car post in June 2009 I found this photo of my then prized and loved Vauxhall Victor 2000 SL
in its final resting state after my first crash.
Up a 6" kerb through a 8 foot hedge, through a small tree through a garden wall and killed about 6 garden gnomes. Both sides of the car looked like that and the steering developed a 30 degree toe out attitude.
Anyone else got any disaster pictures or stories of their first crash. How old were you at the time?
This post is not to glorify idiotic driving but to warn all the young lads out there what might happen to their motor if like me 18 at the time, get a bit heavy with the right foot.
It was heartbreaking to see her towed away to the scrap yard as this car is still the fastest road legal car ever made 0-60 in 1 sec 2000bhp dont believe me look this up

Volvo 240 saloon - passenger doors over by the gearstick, and no boot left - furthest thing rearwards was the back axle........

....but this was Mildenhall Stadium and a 2 litre banger race

Default Which one ?

Which one? lol

How about the one where i was driving Budfish's (oople member) 323i BMW racing Mattb(oople member) in his Nova SR...

Doing nicely until we came to a slightly slippy bend at god knows what speed (well i do but i wont mention it on here) anyways i lost the asse end and ended going sideways through a bustop! Mattb hit a signpost which uprooted and his Nova ended up sat on top of the concrete base about 3 foot in the air! still remember seein him open the door and fall down the hole created!!

Or how about being in Budfish's Nova - coming to a left turn at around 60 Budfish throws the handbrake on at least 60 yards before the bend and im thinking wooo what you doing!...continues do do a lovely skid straight down the road fag in one habd and the other on the wheel....would have been perfect though unfortunately just as we came to the turn the cars slowing down (remember full right lock on at this point) and he just couldnt manage to get the lock off in time (probably due to the large cirgette he had in his hand) so as the car gets traction its whipped right and whacks stariaght into a dry stone wall !!!

Must amdit best handbrake slide i have ever seen Budfish !!

Course this was 18 years ago - now we all drive like old men (ok maybe apart from Budfish!!)

mine was a square shape vw polo estate. it ended up with the back axle at least a foot over to the passenger side. it still ran but the battery was dead so i had to bump start it. but this was a banger at layhams farm track. shame it closed really as it was alot of fun down there.

Coming down my street at boy racer speeds in my AX-GT (first car) i attempted to turn right to go into where my garage is and the steering linkage snapped the car went straight on knocking a neighbours front wall down.

Hi all, if this thread is about showing people what can happen in car accidents to help the younger drivers slow down abit then these are my pics to share.

I was 20 years old when this happened and funnily enough was stationary.

i was hit up the back and knocked into the path of an oncoming lorry.

the result was 4 months in hospital, 6 months in a wheel chair and a further 18 months with crutches/walking sticks.

i know have a life time of painfull joints and internal problems.

so think again if you believe you are invincible behind the wheel.

as i said i started on bikes so had a few little incidents non toooo serious but my first car ( robin reliant) spun on some oil and 180 ed into a wall . it just bounced off flexyflexy. and still drove. new wheel and some bog filler . wich permanently welded the passenger door shut. it still drove for months after.
not to rough on cars since though.
apart from the 306 i put through a wall backwards at 70. that calms ya down a bit

My other half punched a calibra shaped hole into my landlords rather expensive caravan whilst reversing my car off my drive. As its made from fibreglass the entire back and roof had to be replaced. My calibra was effectively written off too due to wrecking the wing/mirror/bonnet/headlight/bumper/door and sill. Not bad for 10 metres going backwards.

2 weeks into my motoring life I lost it doing a ton in a dip and came out sideways. opposite lock was wasted and then I hit a verge outside a pub turning me drivers door down. then demolished a monument, 2 pub benches and then hit their sign. I left the sign at probably a 15 degree angle...

I then turned off the lights, stereo and everything else electrical, unbelted myself and stood up. Door wouldn't open since I'd bend the floor so I wound down (or across whichever way you look at it) the passengers window and climbed out without a scratch. strike off that favour from god lol.

Owners of the pub came running out obviously bewildered by the massive bang outside and sat me down with coffee while I waited for my dad to come and rescue me.

here are the pics.

Don't speed kids! You might not be as lucky as me. Don't put your parents though it. The worst part is facing your Mum afterwards and it has nothing to do with the state of the lump of metal.

yup. Or if I had hit the sign 6 inches forward it would of crushed me to pulp too. I had a Yoke YR4 in the passengers footwell that ended up 20 feet down the road in a ditch!

no idea how it managed to get out of the car. I only broke the 2 rear windows!

if I hadn't of hit that sign the car probably would of rolled a long way down the road/into a field/trees

After driving my first car -Mk3 Escort- illegally (naughty me!) for about a month and half, I passed my test first time. Less than a week later we did the chrimbo shopping and on the way home some old git decided to throw a Renault 12 estate into the back of my car as I was slowing for a junction...pushing the rear bumper into the back seat.

He was changing a cassette and dropped it on the floor...so decided to pick it up whilst doing 60 towards a juction.

I wrote off a Mini on 22nd May 1999 (I think), day of the FA Cup as thats what I was going to watch at a friends house in Salford (Missed it though).

Turning right into a side street, a car behind overtook (not sure if it didn't seen me and couldn't break, or just a fool) in a Volvo. I turned into its path unknowingly, and it hit my drivers side and Mini bounced off it through a garden wall into a garden!. The Mini was bent, even the side which hadn't had an impact. I was a bit bruised and cut from flying glass but otherwise ok. The Volvo driver had no damage, wasn't insured, moved soon after and became untraceable, police tried to do me for turning in to a no entry (although no sign posts or road markings!).... they didn't manage to do that though....

My 1st accident was with my vauxhall viva 1157cc.. a woman (not having a dig ) in a fiat X19 pulled out in front of me, so i hit her rear n/s quarter (i was doing 35/40 mph) her car didnt look that bad, mine crumbled after i stopped which was practically straight away the noise behind me was quite scary looking in the mirror to see a juggernaut skipping to a halt with tyre smoke etc a foot of my bumper.. i did try to move my car only the gearstick was in my hand and the gearbox wasnt were it was supposed to be
