Hi all,

Just some news on this event which is this Friday and weekend.

1. All the latest entries will be added to the online list tonight.
2. Some late entries are still available in all classes.
3. There will be 2wd Clubman racing on Sunday for anyone who entered for the 2wd Clubman racing on Saturday.
4. There is an email going out to all travelling competitors regarding how to find the track (there will be a triail of baloons to follow from J5 on the M1)
5. Please be reminded that the driven wheels in all classes must be Schumacher Minispikes - available trackside
6. There will hopefully be complimentary entry to the "Wright Venue" niteclub in Swords near the Travelodge for all competitors on Saturday night. I'll have a password for all those interested to give at the door.
7. Jimmy from oOple has confirmed that there will be a report on the event

That's all for now, looking forward to meeting you all on Friday.
Regards,

Will

Yep.

All sorted for tomorrow. There were 4 big boxes waiting for me when I got home today. So as stocked as I can be for tomorrow!

Pub, they're not difficult to find over here!!

There was a lot of work up into the track over the last few weeks. So it's a good start to what will hopefully be a great week-end.

What a fantastic days racing

Many many thanks to all involved in organising this event, you have done yourself and the DMCC club proud.

Special thanks to the 'girls' in the kitchen, kept us fed all day with great food and home made chips

As an average club racer it was great to see some of the 'big' names (you know who you are) racing at our track, it was an education just seeing how clean & clinical each lap was

and it's not over, more fun tomorrow with 4WD

Kevin

And i got a warning for swearing on the rostrum !!!!!!!!!! (parlimentary language now )
Did you see what`s on the tee shirts !!!!!!!!!
In all seriousness a big well done to the girls in the kitchen and all ( you know who you are ) who built ,modified and worked on the track over the last month to make to-day the sucess it proved to be.
Well done to Tom who won and Mark who pushed him hard.

Really had a great day today. Fair play to all who organised it.
I took over 300 photos today, and the best one is....

mmmmmmmmmm breakfast!! The food was just great! Well done to the ladies!!!
I think Graham should get a trophy for "most breakfast rolls consumed"

Hi all,

Winter Race Ireland is over for 2011 and it has been the successful event that we all wanted. A team of people put in alot of work to stage this race meeting and I just want to acknowledge the people who, without whom, the event would not have been nearly a good over the weekend.

Vicky Fagan, Club Secretary, for arranging the hire of equipment including table and chairs, purchase of food and sundries, and for feeding all of the competitors for what must have seemed a solid 48 hours. Vicky also recruited Eileen to help in the kitchen all weekend. Well done to you both

Graham Parkes, Comittee Member, for being instrumental in the sourcing of raw materials for the track, especially the astro, and for putting in some late nights setting the track and pitting area up. Graham also ran a large chunk of the meeting over the weekend

Ian Hunter and Michael Bolger , for using their contacts in "a supermarket" and Brennan's Bread to acquire all the food sold at the right price and getting it to the venue.

Michael O'Leary, Race Director, for enforcing the rule book over the weekend and ensuring a fair, highly competitive meeting took place.

Tony Kavanagh and Iris Van Echepoel for stepping in (really at the last moment) to take on some of the duties at Race Control - much appreciated.

Thankyou also goes to Ken Gordon, Dave Bolger, Derek McCloskey, Robin Schumacher, RC Bearings.co.uk, David Home, and our landlord James McNally.

The biggest thankyou, however, goes to the ordinary racers who made up their mind to support the event early on and traveled an extraordinary distance to do so. The A-Finals in all four classes were epic and of the highest standard to say the least which really puts WINTER RACE IRELAND as a "must do" event for 2012.

See you next year

William White
