Default Body Shells for the 511X

Hi all,

looking at the latest TAMIYA shell (version 1) for the 511X, i can't help but think of the influence it must have had from BJ4 / B44 / D4 shell designs. Especially from the latter.

From the raised rear body post mount, the "forward" position of the cockpit, and the side pods protruding forward, it is very similar to the stock HB D4 design,

which leads me to think.... will a Jconcepts D4 highflow shell fit with a bit of modding?

Anyone tried D4 shells on the 511X?

cheers.

The B44 will fit length and width wise, but the motor will hit. Not much, but still...

I know someone who had a scoopless d4 shell on their 501 and it fitted fine. The only difference was, the motor was moved forward slightly compared to a std 501.

the b44 shell and tray can be made to fit the 511 but there are some exposed chassis bits, and like others have said the motor is tight, though it's still tight with the 511 body

Would it be possible to fit an yokomo bx worlds on 511x? they are similar cars. I really like the worlds shell but the 511 seems to be a far better car cheers
