If anyone's looking for a cheap hotel for RHR National and doesn't fancy the standard sh!tty Travelodges, then I've just booked the Ramada at Doncaster Airport (11 miles away) for £43/night using hotels.com

I know it's at the airport, but all the reviews say it's peaceful and quiet during the night. There's also a restaurant on-site too.

There are very few flights at night, just the odd freight one so it should be quiet. There a few local hotels on the rhr website www.robinhoodraceway.com

There is AN AWFUL LOT of sand on the track and after talking to James at the track when we went up for a practice and race last wednesday, he says that it won't be there on the National weekend. I do hope so as to be honest I found it terrible to drive on with zero traction on a large percentage of the track.

Just to be safe i'd bring along your bucket, spade and windbreak.

I also hear that James is hoping to make a killing on RH Raceway rock and the donkey rides that will be going up and down the "beach" on Saturday evening

I never liked BBC!

Metcheck says it'll be hot and sunny, but with showers on Saturday morning and rain on Sunday night.

Yes, of course the piles of sand will be left there, the place won't have had any preparation and be looking a total dump for when everyone gets there, just like the last 2 nationals and the oOple race.
