Default Diff settings on FS2...

How are you guys setting your diffs?

I know a few of the setups record the front diff as being loose...are you using the slipper to prevent the diff from slipping?

I've tried to keep my diffs as loose as possible but a can hear one of the diffs (suspect front) slipping under hard acceleration from a tight corner. I've read on other posts that if the diffs are too tight, the handling takes a turn for the worse....so don't want to start wrenching it up.

I'm running ceramic balls in F&R for both diff and thrust (FWIW).

Thanks

You can run the slipper MUCH looser than you would think on the FS2.

Set the rear diff so the slipper slips first but only just, set the front diff just a fraction tighter than that and your good to go. Most people you feel my slipper on the bench say it MUST be slipping on track ... hardly at all, just silky smooth Kyosho goodness
(I run a one-way in the front as you know but that is how I used to run the diff at the front before going back to what I'm most comfortable with ... a one-way)

Cheers Roger.

So maybe slipper is a bit too tight then? Seems to slip a few feet if I gun it which I assumed was right...

Yep Roger is right you can run the transmission much looser than you would in say a B44 or Cat..

I turn the slipper with my thumb, holding car down.. spur gear should turn freely with a little effort...

Then set the diffs up... to do the rear i hold both back wheels between my knees and again turn spur gear with my thumb... if the gearbox out drive is turning you need to nip the diff up an 8th of a turn... check again.. the diff is set up spot on if the slipper just slips before the outdrive... do the same with the front..

Setting up this way, makes the car super smooth with no loss of drive etc much more forgiving as well and pleasure to drive... Just abit more give in all areas.. the diff springs on the bolt are working correctly " giving " abit etc

On the other hand if you get it wrong and everything is to tight the car is like a switch lol!! and you'll find your diffs wont last long at all..

ANy probs drop me a pm
