At least they gave me a little advanced notice this time.

It was pretty piss poor to have 55 drivers booked in for East Shrewsbury, and only 35 turn up.

Looking at the forcast it looks like it may be a wet mornin for oswestry.

we would therefore like to offer the use of the indoor pitting again for this meeting to any that decide they want to. mains power is extremely limited so use of gennies and 12vs will still be required.

Thanks Mike, I was going to ring Jeff tonight about the pitting..

As for the entry list, I'll post it later tonight.

we could've emailed you at 4am on sunday morning when we realised we couldn't go, but would you have read that? i don't think so. I think asking Doddy to cancel our entry was the best we could do considering. Probably best if you don't include us two in that list you're slagging off

That comment was aimed at all the dirvers that didnt turn up, not just you Mark..

I just find it difficult to understand how people can enter meetings 2-3 days before and then cancel/no show on the day. It's becoming a regular for so many drivers in our region, do they not understand what goes into organising these meetings....

yeah, i do respect that point Phil, i don't do anything towards organising any meeting, so can't comment on that bit.

how about a more official way of entering a meeting? rather than just emailing you? (like the way Worksop are doing it?)

i remember that being the way we all used to enter meetings (granted, that was before the joys of the internet and oOple)

As far as I'm aware the central booking system was voted in a few years back and has run very succesfully for atleast 3 years.

If drivers would prefer to pay up front for meetings when they submit entries via post, then they are more than welcome.

The regional AGM will be openly advertised to all drivers, so that the Regional rep position can be filled by the best person for the job. The new rep can then discuss with the host clubs what entry method would suit them best.

It's hoped the regional AGM will be before the National AGM so the new rep has a chance to meet the committee before the national committee meetings start in Nov '08

Any willing volunteers for the Regional Rep position can e-mail/speak to me, so I can give you details of what is involved.
