onroad electric worlds

the 1/12th and t/c worlds have just taken place in bangkok , and we have the youngest ever world champion.

he is naoto matukura and he is 15 years old
as expected masami has mentored him , and was pitting for him at the worlds.
he lapped everyone upto 3rd in the final

in t/c mark rheinard has made history by becoming the first to win the t/c worlds twice.

big welldone must go out to elliott harper for making the a final at his first ever worlds
he finished 3rd in leg one behind masami and ronald volker.
some going considering this was his first proper big race.

Myself and Tom cock have had our X-5's wheelieing on grass at york, i didnt see any wheel spin that day, or when we race on dry astro

why do some people come on here and take the piss out of other classes when we all know that most of them don't race onroad because they don't have the skill to drive fast tight lines.

you will find if you look at most of your top drivers they started off racing onroad or raced it at some point.
craig drescher kevin moore jamie booth masami hirosaka to name a few.
and if you ask them they will tell you that it made there off road driving better for it.

don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

i don't know why i bothered posting the results if all people were going to
do was take the piss.
i was just trying to relay some info to people about rc if you don't want know don't read it.
i thought this was a forum for rc not just off road.

I think i am qualified enough to say that it is the most bitchy class of racing i have ever witnessed, setups are hidden and if you are faster in a stock class you must be cheating, how often do you get off the rostrum after a run and actually smile when racing on road

i'v raced 12th scale for 14 years now and i have never met a better bunch of people in my life.

and i'am qualified to comment on most classes as i started racing offroad 25 years ago.
i started racing t/c 12 years ago.
and as i said i started racing 12th scale 14 years ago.

everytime i go to a 12th scale race i smile from start to finish.
it's the best class i have ever raced with the most helpful people you could ever meet.
you can walk up to any of the top drivers in 12th scale and they will share there setups with you.
i'v never had that in offroad for atleast 10 years.
but lee i'am thinking of coming to race at the next round in south shields so feel free to show me that offroad is the most freindly class going by coming across and sharing your setups.

i didn't come on here to slag anyother classes off (i love all rc racing) so please let us talk about rc in general.
so please don't slag off other classes or people that race thoughs classes until you get experience in thoughs classes.

I agree with everything lee has said that's why i've come back to offroad, more relaxed. I was onabout 1/10th scale saloons which lee is also on about i haven't run 1/12ths but i haven't heard anything but good about that class and everyone enjoys it which is why if there where somewhere to run them where i live i would try it out. All those drivers you talk about actually started off in offroad

sorry mate but if you read my post again you will see where i said most of the top drivers started in onroad or have raced onroad at some point.

i don't want to get into an argument about which class is better that the other.
they all have good and bad points.

i just enjoy racing.

Having said all this lee i do agree with you im starting up on onroad again i quit like it but i know some people don't smile after they get off the rostrum they should enjoy the sport and have a good luagh

due to the low numbers in south wales, I race whatever class is popular (although not a fan of 18th scale). I know on and off-road are two different disciplines. The enjoyment of on-road is a little anal in as much as, it is stringing together 5 mins of lines that are really good, but to get there, you have to be really focused, but that don't make me smile, having five mins of racing someobody, really close is really enjoyable.

Off-Road is all about jump timing and adapting each lap to the track, but it feels far more relaxed too.

The last leg of the A Worlds was awesome to watch, for looking at two guys, one on the limit to keep the lead, the other running at about 95% and just keeping the pressure on, watching Hara trying to not spin the wheels up after 2 mins was ace!!!

as i said your not as qualified as you thought lee

the 12th scale worlds were held on tarmac, and since 1992 we have had 5 held on tarmac 4 held on carpet

but if 12th scale was only raced on carpet would that class be ok.
i don't think so unless you raced it then it would be the best form of racing going, but as you don't it's crap because you say so.
