Default Connecting fan to esc

I've got an old esc that doesn't have a supply for the esc fan,I can't plug it into the receiver has all sockets being used. Is it ok to solder onto the battery wires or is it to much voltage for the fan.. Any solutions....

Depends on the fan. Most only go up to 6v but you can get some that go to 8.4v. You could put a y lead into receiver and power ptx and fan off same receiver channel.
