Default 3 Mobile Network

Right, I'm thinking of changing my phone provider over to 3 from o2 and just wondered if anyone is with them and has any comments about the coverage etc.

Not looking for people to just totally run them down, I'd like to know if people have had problems in the last year or so but don't just post something like they are pants....not helpful!!

Thanks

Ellis

(and not from you Preddy, you already told me )

One of my mates was on them a few years ago, and he said they were okay, but the phone they gave him was a bit rubbash...

It was one of those Nokia big jobbies (can't remember the model), and it just gave you no warning when it was filling up with photo's or video's which caused the fone to crash...

I think they are okay now tho, and he had a really good deal on a contract, and coverage was fairly good.
My advice, choose the phone you want, and see if they can do you a deal on it. From my experience, phone companies will do almost anything to keep you as a customer!!

Ellis,

I work in the mobile phone trade and deal with Three among others!!

Three has very good coverage in the UK... this is increasing every year.
The features and tariffs available on three are better then any other network.. The phones are normally about a month behind, but you can pick up most of the top handsets now.

The video calling feature is second to none.. great for calling home to see kids etc.

The only down side of three is if you have to ring customer services!!! they don't speak the greatest english..

I went from o2 to 3 for about 3 years & have now gone back to O2 due to the worst customer service ive ever had from anyone Their coverage was quite good & did back up onto O2's network, not sure if they still do though!
So id say 3 are fine until something goes wrong then no one gives a sh#t & you get bounced around the call center when no one speaks english!

Turbo brick,

Any idea how they increased your coverage?

I get no signal at all when I go racing in Hereford, and my concern is that if anything happens to me/my car on the back roads to and from the venue im screwed..

Jim has just gone over to 3, just because that was the best deal he got on the phone he wanted. He was told in the shop that they use the O2 network, which was backed up when you looked at the network selection on his phone.

He has had no problems what so ever.

i was on a 3 contract a couple of years ago and wanted to use the phone abroad, rang the very dodgy customer services and was told to ring them on the day i got to the airport, when the time came and i rang again they told me i had to pay £150 there and then on a credit card before i could use it abroad and this was on top of my £30 a month contract so my phone was just a camera for the week

from what i know he went into the manually select network part started going through selecting each network manually then switching the phone off and reseting it, he did this for all of the three networks and the orange roaming one.

How it works or what it does i don't know

I've had a couple of 3 contacts and their fine + good value.

The only downside is that the phones tend to be a bit bigger and the battery life lower.
