Motors with the softest low end punch?
As a matter of experience, which motors have you found to be the softest at the low end of the curve? I have found brushless to have savage torque in general. But have found the speedpasion motors to be a little softer than lrp for example. Has anyone had experience of trying two or more motors that they would like to share ? As I think having a less torquee motor in the bottom of the rev range easier to drive.

Can you not muck around with speedo (or radio) settings to damp down the punch off the line. I know a couple of my speedos have this sort of feature.

As far as my experience goes, smoothness and soft feel of your power at low RPM is much more down to ESC than motor... I'd rather run a low budget motor and high-end ESC than the other way round. Not just for smoothness, but also because some high-end ESCs are capable of coupling that smoothness at low RPM with brutal power in the higher RPM range

I found Orca motors to be very aggressive but the speed controllers laggy. The combination made the car drive with an on off switch feel. I use Hobbywing now and they're nice and smooth whilst making good power. Speed passion stuff always seems to feel smooth.
