Just a reminder that, in between the six Turf War events, we will also be racing every Sunday excepting Xmas / New Year weeks and Mothering Sunday. On these 'normal' club days the doors will open at 10:00 for track building and start practice/racing from around 11:00, closing doors at 16:00. No need to prebook.

Further details on the Southport website www.srcc.co.uk

Is it all the series to count or 4 of the 6 and what are the regs for being a veteran, is it when you where 40. I think Damo will have that sawn up lol. The reason I am asking is I can't do the first 2. Oh and do you have to be a club member.

Yes Spencer it will be 4 rounds to count from 6.
It is open to everyone, not just club members.
I may have to change Vets Trophy to OAP's

This Sunday will be the third week we will have raced on our all new indoor astroturf track and the feedback we've had so far has been excellent.

One key question that keeps cropping up is what tyres should I run? The simple answer is start out by treating it just as you would an outdoors astroturf track with High-Medium to High Grip. The popular opinion for 2WD seems to be staggered fronts and Schuy Yellow or Bally White mini-spikes rear. Although, a few seem to have had reasonable results with Schuy Yellow mini-pins and dB Nanobytes. I tried Terrabytes both A and B compound and they didn’t provide enough grip.

The good news is that, whatever tyre choice drivers have made, everyone has commented on how little wear they are encountering. It all makes the £7 race fee look very attractive. There's still some places left - book in before it's too late.

we tried mini pins which worked OK, but found your outdoor tires worked great mini spike yellows front and back, staggers on the front were OK as well,as fare as grip goes i would say medium / defo not high grip, but none the less very very good,
and although we will miss the first event will be there at the rest,

I've certainly noticed an increase in grip from the first meeting to the second. Last week I was starting to get grip role in places and had to change from Schuy Yellow's to Bally Whites. It may be because the astro is starting to get a coating of rubber from the tyres.

Hi Rob, I sent a confirmation via booking-in@srcc.co.uk at 4:32pm Fri 26th
There is mains, bring an extention lead.
At the momment there are not enough 4wd for a heat so I suggest you bring your 2wd with you.
