a tale of 2 B5M LOL
ok so I bought a complete buggy and loads of spares basically because it was cheaper than buying the spares I wanted.
it arrives and its a lite version, and way way nicer than my own buggy, dripping in alloy and brass parts this is where I become confused clutch and motor are reversed on each of them, Im guessing that 1 has a 3 gear and the other a 4 gear gearbox, because if I rotate the spur towards the front on each of them, the axles go opposite ways also one has gear diff, other has ball diff so then... what one do I need to keep and build up with electrics as my race buggy? tracks raced at will be Mendip, grippy astro. Tiverton, Astro and Grass, also the indoor series at Cullompton, carpet sorry for what may be dumb question, but Im well confused LOL I am new but I dont want to be trying to run something thats deffo not suitable or maybe hindering my performance what Im kind of hoping is that I can use the new one b5m lite, with straight front arms, what I think is 3 gear gearbox and geared diff on dry grippy days, then maybe build up my old car, gullwing front, ball diff as a wet car with some cheapy electrics

Yes you are right. For those high grip tracks a foward motor car like the B6 would be best, but as an all rounder the B5M lite with 3 gear gearbox, gear diff and flat arms is pretty good. Certainly handles the tougher undulating stuff well and will work well in the damp/slippier parts of the track.
Gulling arms tend to be used on higher grip tracks as they have less initial steering/more power on steering. Hope this helps. Mark

Keep both gearboxs.
3 gear / gear diff - high grip 4 gear / ball diff - low grip |
