Default my 22 broke two sevo's is one night?

the first servo came stock from a b4.1 and as i left a spacer on the mounts the servo was pushed further forward than it should have been and bust itself when it got jammed with another arm after a nasty landing,

the second servo was an old futaba one kindly donated to me in pity as 2 laps into the meeting i had no servo so i put that in without the spacers this time and it went great for two laps then on another ichy landing the wheels locked and i had to leave the race. what had happened was the servo arm had been pulled back and then bent the wrong way, so toward the chassis rather than away.

i think they were both plastic servo's and i want to know if a metal savox 1251mg servo for instance would stop this problem or could it be something wrong with my set-up?

thanks

As discussed its a great servo, very strong and durable. Had mine for 4 years now, from novice to expect .

Can't go wrong with the Savox tbh. Think Apex have them in, I use a 1251

deffinatly is a good servo owing to the number of people who have it but at that price i dont was to brake it after a few laps because i have overlooked something on the car.

thanks

The better servos also have spare part support. So even if you do break an expensive one, you can get replacement parts.

Have broken a couple of Futabas and a couple of "cheap" ones. The cheap ones are in the bin, one Futaba is still being used, the other i have parts on order for.

(One of the cheap ones was the stock B4.1 RTR servo!)

You could also look at getting a servo saver in there. (Don't think the 22 has one does it?)

The 22 has no servo saver but I've generally found that the plastic servo horn will strip itself and save the servo in the event of a hefty impact.

I run the Spektrum S6070 Low Profile servo in my car. I've done a complete season before now and not stripped anything and then I did 2 horns in 2 meetings.

however, I prefer stripping the plastic horn than doing servo gears.

ok so the savox should stop any problems i had with the cheap servo's and speed up the steering?! and a plastic horn will work fine and should stop much damage to the servo in a big crash by stripping itself hopefully.

thanks

i would stay away from low profile servo and get a full size one as the gears are stronger in them been running a ko propo 2123 in mine for about 3 years now only broke one servo horn and one gear in the servo in the 3 years i have had it i would get the
Savox SC-1258tg

very strong

all depends where speedo is mounted on 22, to what size servo can be used .

Hi does the steering rack have any play in it ? If so that will cause the servo to jam on full lock I would also change this if you are fitting a new servo !

Savox servo, get a couple of 25 plastic servo horns to keep in the pitbox. Then fit all up and check it doesn't bind up when fitted. It took 4 goes for me to get mine correct. Didn't break tho.

there is a little bit of play in the rack but nothing major or unexpected, is there a way of tightening that up or is that just normal and should be left alone? have got some 25t horns on the way

SAVSC1258TG - High Speed Titanium Gear Servo .08/167.

MY go to servo for all things 10th scale. My buggy and SC rock these servos. Never a need for a servo saver...

The 1251mg is not a bad servo but for tight indoor carpet tracks I dont feel its very durable. Ill pass on low profile for offroad.

the 1251 is what has been recommended at my club and most people who run the 22, use it so im going to go with that but thanks for the advise! i installed it after several attempts to get the angle right and the steering has speed up hugely and all seems great but the ball cup connecting to the servo horn is knocking slightly against the top plate as it tries to go under it while turning, how could i fix that without moving the servo forward as it is about to inter-fear with the arm from the wheel anyway? would filing the top plate slightly be alright or is that the worst possible thing to do?

thanks, Alex
