I have no need to, it's part of the construct so I could make it handle any way I wish.

I've driven a fair few of the modern cars (All on polished wood);
BJ4 WE Pred X10 XX-4 XXX-4 D4 TRF 501x ZX5-SP MR4-BX Of all of these I've found the 501x to be the easiest to drive which is the reason why I bought one of my own. The ZX5-SP if the grip levels where up was awesome it just stuck like glue and could match the pace of any of the other cars out there but I found I struggled when the grip levels started to get very low. The hardest car to drive I found was the BJ4 WE. The hall we race in usually goes from low grip to no grip at all, all the cars handle well when the grip in the hall is there but when its on a really slippery night then the Tamiya's just always seem to be able to outpace the other cars. |

no body should crib what the other person drives its down to personal preference, i raced a dark impact at club level and loved it, made the A final every time a few people took the proverbial but so what if you like a certain car and it suits your style then the choice is yours

Until i got my ZX5-SP this April, I haven't driven a buggy for more than a decade. The only thing I did so far to the kit setup was changing the rear shock oil to 35wt. The car is a dream to build and a dream to drive from the box (that was what the question was about, eh?).
apart from that, it seems to be nearly bullet proof. Although I claim to have been the worst driver at the two meetings I attended so far, and abused the poor little Lazer very much, only one ugly landing proved to be fatal so far. Full speed upside down landding on the front shock tower - put the car on its wheels again, and off you go! I think every other car around had issues at less extreme circumstances (B44, X11, X-5, 501X, BJ4, BJ4, BJ4 - what material is used for those suspension arms?!) |

Thanks must go to Jon Leonard's dad for making it for me (but it was the standard kit and no team extras from Team Yokomo). I was handed it by Jon just before 4wd practice and from standard build it was half decent and easy to dial in. Qualified 7th and got the lead at the end of the straight due to a pile up with the leaders and never looked back. Great car!!!!!

And the coolest looking R/C buggy I have ever seen. The B44 is just as easy to drive as the 501x is also. The BJ4 worlds is the hardest car to drive, I saw that for myself, people with 10+ year exp didnt have a problem driving the Bj4 worlds, But a guy that has just as much exp as me broke a front A-arm every 5 mins, I have never in my lifetime seen a guy go thru 10+ A-Arms in an hour time. I told him he needs to stick with a B44 or 501x. As the Bj4 is far too advanced for our driving skill.

I love your posts its good to have you back
But they make no sense 501 is the easiest car to drive, fair comment, but how can the b44 be as easy to drive and still have the 501 as the easiest? Bj4 hardest car to drive??? Is it not a b44 I saw wes at the track on sunday, he said your wheels were kick ass |

Hey B44&501xRacerEX, were you really christened such a name? thats unfortunate.
Not as unfortunate as Marmite. But Bovril is less unfortunate although it far worse, and really good. You ought to post more! I was just about to hit the bottle, you gave me incentive not to, come on! Post again! |

Hehe I suppose so, strong as well, but I did manage to break Dave Belstens YZ10 front wishbone in half when we had a head on and my Lazer was undamaged. Still I only raced it at two events with the Yokomo and it was good at both. Great design but too stable for me, I just couldnt get it to turn in quick enough, even with different castor blocks, it just kept understeering and I prefer major oversteer.
