Default Indoor Season Winter 2010-2011

Hi all,

It's probably a good time to get a discussion started on the indoor season for this winter. Like last year, at the moment the plan is to have a 1/10th Touring Car meeting in Taney Hall on Saturdays and a 1/10 Offroad meeting on Sundays at a location yet to be confirmed.

Mick B will be making enquiries about the shed in Prosperous, last years venue, after the Euros and putting together a budget plan.
However, if anyone else knows of a similar sized shed for around 600 euros/month that is closer to Dublin, please make it known to the rest of us.

There is no proposed date for the start of the indoors yet, but starting at Halloween and ending on St. Patrick's Day might be good for all.

It's in Co. Dublin too - although about the same distance from Lucan as Prosperous

Anywhere more northern would be great :P prosperous was too far for me to really travel, although last winter I didn't have access to a car so I would like to get down a few times to race!

that looks to be a good shed cheaper and we wouldn't have to share the area

Hi All,

I've emailed the owner about that shed. Prosperous was grand and we had the run of the place - however I can see the following benefits if this shed is suitable.
  1. 200 euro less expensive a month (16 drivers @ 25 euro/month??)
  2. Although the Naul is about the same distance from Lucan as Prosperous, it's motorway almost to the door.
  3. It's a new, almost unused shed - no leaks and no rats!!!
  4. We wouldn't have to share the shed with anyone and would be the only key holder
  5. If we have another cold winter it will be safer to get to as it's only just off the motorway and not 10 miles down a back road.
  6. The club has a good few members in North Dublin, but nobody in Prosperous.
Possible downsides are the following:
  1. We may have to pay for power (probably 30-50 euro/month)
  2. There may not be a toilet on site like Prosperous
  3. Our relationship with the landlord may be more formal than Prosperous as Mick new his mum - but that's not an issue
  4. For those who like rats and mice - The Naul won't have any of those
Please give your comments and opinions - this will need to be sorted in the next few weeks/month

Will

Anyone willing to go have a look at it?

We would need to double check on the size. From the specs it does not seem to be that big.

195 sq metres, that's 14 x 14m approx.

But the price / location is good.

MiCk B. :-)

How about this:

http://www.myhome.ie/commercial/broc...leixlip/332214

Just down the road from the track in Lucan
About 400 sq feet bigger than prosperous
About 200 quid more a month than prosperous - but this is negotiable

Looks good.

I know where this place is, I pass it on the way home on the bike. Handy location, well worth looking into.

Just thinking out loud so don't shoot me if u don't like the idea but what about an empty farmer's building ? not that I know of any but there should be few around and surely they wouldn't be too expensive to rent out...
I know some rent space in them for winter storage of boats and caravans so why not using them for rc cars !!!

ok may not be too hot but just an idea...
