Default SC Truck Diff Outdrives

Hi,
I have recently supplied Jez Thorpe with some "C-Drives" for his Durango SC Truck and he has kindly provided the following photos of them after installation.

I originally made them for the Team-C cars but Jez spotted that they could also be used on his truck.

They make the drive train realy smooth and I'm convinced that they are a good deal more efficient than the standard dog-bone coupling.

Interesting stuff - could you also machine these from nylon instead of aluminium? (At least it looks like alu on the pictures)

The blades are hardened tool steel. I made some in aluminium but they were never going to last long. ;-) I made some in brass and they showed signs of wear after one meeting.

So now they are hardened steel. And wear is almost nowt!
Some exotic polymer such as VESPEL might hack it but they would be expensive.

I lubricate them with a PTFE loaded penetrating oil as I can't see much else getting into the pin holes. It is in aerosol form and helps to wash out all the debris too.

Apart from mine, the first one was installed on a TM2 that had a big notch in the drive cup and it is still going strong after a good six months of heavy use.
