raced against it on sunday, looked like it needed more development, there front end is the interesting bit ,it was described as floating on 4 ball joints ,the car looked like it was unbalanced with plenty of low speed steering but unstable under power from the pod.my dad recorded the finals ,il get him to upload the video and put the link on here,u can judge for yourself and watch it go,add to the mystery

Yes mate we tested @ ardent 2 weeks ago and went round on rails, Shame myself and Isherwood had the same issues all day. Great at the start then the additive played havok.
Never mind we plod on and iam sure the drivers will make there own judgements.

@ MardaveUK

does cutting the tops of the red ball joints free them up?

are u proposing thes cars race in a seperate class or are u going to do upgrade kits ?
if ur having the chassis redone for the front end how about a series of holes for the front bumper so u can move them to adjust to the body
or move the holes for the body mount holes back 5mm so u can get the steering arms straight,i noticed u had different ballcups on ,does this do away with the issue,
not having a pop at u or the car ,just thought while ur on here and modifying the car that theres a few small tweeks u could address while not costing huge development and molding costs

Steve all points taken and i will sort best i can. As for ball cups they are a little tight from new so i cut tops of which helps. if i reduce tightness then my worry is they will pop of in the contact section of our kits.
Cheers
Chris
And yes there will be a upgrade kit

awhile ago on another forum i saw a thread about a pro's tc car which he had left with a friend for the weekend (bad idea)any way this fela's brother took some pics of his car and uploaded them anyway more to the point the shell was sat right back and wheel arches cut further forward in the shell to give more down force on the front wheels this may be worth a try with this new kit your making to give it more down force over the front wheels producing more steering in corners etc.

Just my opinion but all these developments are taking away what a mardave really is.
It was a cheap introduction to rc that everyone could afford. The way its gone is now not cheap for a youngster to buy and be competative.
Years back I used to really enjoy the indoor season when most of us would race these brilliant little cars as standard and the only edge you had was skill. Now it seems you can buy too many things to make it go faster and lose the level field and fun of racing.
If some young kid starts at your club and cant get near the front every week because the racer next to him can afford all the hop ups he,ll soon lose interest and the club loses a member and fee,s.
keep this fantastic little car simple.

there not changing the v12 its a 12th scale saloon car there making an extra class to race in.the only hopups for these things really are tyres and bearings to make it faster and have more grip other then that its electrics which alot of clubs have rules on to keep it fair.if everyone had similar spec esc's and ran the same motor then its more fair.these people who run a £200 esc will go faster to those running a £40 esc but thats why some clubs run a £60 esc price limit.

Red face

That's an old argument and what about the guys who want it faster and can afford it (me) the clubs in question just have to run a standard class to cater for new drivers

And if you look at any hobby it ain't cheap fact car looked mint in the last run that I saw fast as f**k and railed

most clubs i go to or have been to run a beginner/budget class for those getting in to the hobby.

if you want to be competitive on a budget go on ebay!trust me i have got some really good deals off there also on here too on esc's motors batteries etc rather then buying new saves money + you can be really competitive at a fraction of the cost.

i run in the m-chassis class running a second hand novak gtx and a 540 motor and cheap lipos i got from hk and keep up with people running faster motors because i get more power from the esc.

Just about all clubs run Stock Daves we run
G2 4Cell (Stock)
and
13.5 1s LiPo (Brushless)

and in the same heats

the results are great

Heat 2 - Round 3 (Mardave V12)
Pos Car Arc Name Result Ave Best
1 1 533 Nick Cooper 22 / 303.51 13.79 13.19 <<<<Stock
1 2 698 James Carvell 22 / 303.51 13.79 12.95<<< Brushless

Mardave V12 - A Final Leg 1
Pos Car Arc Name Result Ave Best
1 1 533 Nick Cooper 23 / 311.61 13.54 13.10
2 2 698 James Carvell 22 / 300.31 13.65 12.93

Mardave V12 - A Final Leg 2
Pos Car Arc Name Result Ave Best
1 2 698 James Carvell 22 / 301.06 13.68 13.00
2 1 533 Nick Cooper 22 / 301.52 13.70 13.03

His Brushless setup is £85 Fusion Logic combo
1sLiPo off ebay £28 and £5 booster

Cheaper than a 4cell setup of say 4 packs of matched cells @£30
