The reason it is falling apart and that, is because you haven't let the Legend have a look at it yet. I am sure it will stay in one piece, once you have given the car a bath in super glue.

i was doing the same and love the aluminum back bone idea.. but could you make 2 and mill the curve of the front side to the curve of the battery and still have the weight far enought back.. and motor movement for gearing.

Here's a link to my shelfer Tekin for reference http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_m...64658&id=18028 I'm putting a runner one together to race at Jarrow (back end of the year) so I'm also interested in the handling characteristics of such mid motored 2WDs

A friend of mine made a mid motor Losi as well, and found the problem to be in the front kick-up, which is very different from for example the X-6. After changing this, the car was fantastic.

Same as the X-6, after studying the X-6 geometry the solution was the front kick-up, which is different and needed to be changed to the same amount as the X-6 has.

I dont know the angle, but it could be worth trying to experiment.

Years ago when i had a cougar 2 team, i stripped the front bulkhead- it used to have 2 screws that you add plastic washers in to alter the kickup angle.

I was given 2 huge wood screws ha ha that were way to long to at least get me up and running, so un be known to me i just added all kinds of washers and nuts as the screws were to long lol.. I didnt have anything to cut the screws down with.

the kickup ended up more or less flat to the ground inline with the chassis, but was solid none the less... first time out with the car, i have more steering at low speed turn in and mid, its was only top end speed that was lagging, but as this was indoors on carpet it was ace. i ended up keeping it as it was lol.
