are you running the worlds shell? that has more room for tall fans. Another option might be to run a low profile servo which might enable you to move the ESC a little for better fitment (thats what I've done)

Sorry I didn't read that, I put my ESC opposite the motor. I've not installed the Novak personally tho. The Worlds shell has more room but I managed to fit my Nosram with fan without toooooo many problems.

One of the people at my club has it installed behind the motor infront of the cells. I have my lrp sphere tc there too. It is tight but it does fit, then you have the motor tabs forward and the wires running flat across the top and soldered infront. This should give you a low enough profile to fit underneath the shell.

Yeah sure, just taken these. No fan on the speedo cos im currently running indoors with a 10.5 limit and the speedo is barely warm without the fan.

You could probably have the motor further rotated forward but I was lazy and didnt want to rewire my speedo when putting the electrics in the 501.

Hope this helps the guy with the gtb has it setup in the same place a few people have them setup on the opposite side as there is a bit more room but then you have the problem of routing wires over the car. Any more questions just ask.

You can see what I mean about overhang - mine is rotated 90 degrees (and on the opposite side of the car) so it doesn't over hang.. mainly because I sometimes ran / run without undertray and didn't fancy hitting bricks with the esc

Will the fan fit under the shell there Mole? and which shell you running?

The fan does sit very close to the body (worlds edition) but it doesnt touch.

Yeah those screws are great, I built the car with them. Any screw I could put a larger cap head on I did so they should be less likely to strip the head of them. They probably weigh a fair bit more but I would rather have that than need to drill out screws.

The overhang is actually a bit of a worry for me and originally I was going to put the speedo on the other side but then changing pinions/motors would mean removing the speedo.

I considered for a while building a nerf bar to help protect the speedo but then I was too lazy to do that and i've only ran the car indoors so far.

This is how i did it!
with 5 cells in the car it gives you as close as possible 50/50
weight distribution in the rear

The Tekin R1-pro in my 501x "WCE" I didnt have location problems at all.
I didnt put it where you put that LRP Eraser which is another good
small esc to put in this chassis, but I put mine right behind the servo.
The cap on the Tekin R1-pro is also alot smaller than the Novak cap.
Which I had alot of trouble getting my GTB to fit.

The tekin and Lrp fit this chassis alot better.

The car right above me is how I did mine, but my futaba fasst reciever is velcroed to other
side of the servo. I also like the fact that the car above is useing the associated thumb screws.
I used a complete B44 battery tray with the plastic battery hold downs.
That is so I didnt have to file the chassis battery slots.
