Default Oswestry Improvements

You may have seen the photos on our facebook page showing the changes to the Oswestry track. These changes represent the largest transformation of the track since it was originally built.

https://www.facebook.com/OswestryRadioCarClub

The work has been going on since the end of last season and will be complete by April.

(1) The track area is now around 10% bigger. This has been achieved by pushing the track outward around the perimeter.
(2) The telegraph pole has been removed for better visibility
(3) New lights have been erected for improved night driving
(4) ALL of the old Astro-turf has been removed and replaced with new. We have retained a grass section in the centre of the track.
(5) Around 100 tonnes of stone have been used to remodel the surface and create a track with changes in elevation - including a large 'negative elevation' feature in front of the rostrum.

The new track is going to be great. We are really looking forward to our first meeting and welcoming you all to come and race with us from April onwards.

Last Thursday saw our our first outdoor meeting on the new track. Over 30 drivers attended this club meeting which was an excellent turnout. If anyone wants to come down on a Thursday night you are most welcome. We are there from around 7pm. Open practice and then 3 rounds of qualifying followed by finals.
